I've always had pretty good luck with St. Croix rods. This series has good value for what you get.

You'll Miss It When You Have To Pick Up Another Pole.

TRIS70MF 7'0" ( Fast Medium ) has created a relationship with Pampano that I did not think possible. I fish the Tampa Bay, Florida region. I have caught Bonnet Head Sharks, 16" Pampano to the fork, 15" (to the fork) Jack Cervell, 25" Snook, and 6 other species. I jig off the bottom of sand bars, jetties, and piers. I can feel it when a Pampano grabs the lure, sucks it in, sits still, and grinds it like it would with a shrimp/sand flea. I can feel this relationship with this pole. The sensitivity, the weight, and when it needs the stiffness of a Medium to work a snook or crazy Jack Cervelle this pole delivers. I run a pole that is under a pound. When the entire group is catching nothing I can bring in 2 to 6 fish and have the entire pier trying to understand. My entire system: St. Croix TRIS70MF, Shimano Miravel Spinning Reel 4000, 30lb green super braid by Yo-Zuri, Yo-Zuri pink 30lb leader, and a 1/2 oz pink vertical jig (pink for pampano) that looks like a shrimp.
