My current pair of low-cut hiking shoes are the X Ultra GTX 2's in a size 10. I have a wide fore- and mid-foot with a fairly narrow heel, and those shoes fit me pretty well. However, even with the wide version of these in size 10, the midfoot is still way too narrow, and half my foot is extending beyond the sole at its narrowest point, meaning the midfoot is digging into my arch really uncomfortably.
These are not truly a "wide" fit shoe; I've worn standard "D" width shoes that are wider than these (which are supposed to be "EE"). I really wanted to like these shoes, as I'm a fan of the quick lacing system, and the cushioning feels fantastic and my heel is cupped really well; however, the narrow midfoot section is a complete dealbreaker.
Please consider revising your sole sizing measurements appropriately.
