Almost Perfect

This is a fantastic little pack. I got this to use while my 15L Osprey was getting repaired. Pros: The height and width feels more ergonomic than many packs. Some packs feels like they're sitting more behind your arms/shoulders than sitting on your back, so the weight distribution of this one is very nice. The pocket options, etc. are excellent. Stretch front/small interior pockets (with pen/stylus loops, fleece pockets, top fleece pocket, webbing loops, attachment points to hook onto another pack or add a carabiner, all feel very intentional and purposeful. The hip strap is a nice touch. The front buckle works very well for holding a jacket, sleeping pad, or other item horizontally when cinched down Cons: I am unsure if this pack is actually 16L... unless the stretch outside pocket is included in the size. The 15L Osprey that I also use can definitely hold more than this pack. Along the same lines, this pack requires a lot more strategic packing. The pockets are tightly sewn enough that when you put something in one pocket it makes it significantly harder to fit items in the other pockets. The top fleece pocket is wonderful for protecting small, fragile, scratchable, or electronic items, but deep enough that when it is filled it almost blocks the opening of the main interior pocket. What seems like the "laptop pocket" will only fit a bare 13" laptop, which isn't an issue, just something to be aware of if you really want to protect it. I kept my laptop inside its case in the main compartment. Conclusions: I just took this pack on a 6 week trip to Asia and loved it. I would recommend this to anyone as a day hike, lightweight travel, or city pack... just be aware of its sort-of-unique spacing limitations. This isn't a pack you can just cram a lot into from the top and go, unless you only use the main compartment.

Better Than I Expected

This pack surprised me on the upside. For my daily needs, I only need 16 liters, but I carry a 13" laptop and want good organization. This pack delivers. It's a very good design and great materials. Well thought out internal organization. My only gripe is the fabric used for the top quick access pocket feels like cheap sweatshirt material. It won't scratch sunglasses, but I'd prefer something a little nicer. That said, I give this pack a thumbs up.

Perfect Everyday & Day Hike Pack!

It is exactly what I was looking for in an everyday pack that I can also use for day hikes. The pockets are great, the straps are all adjustable and there even a whistle on the chest strap. Lots of options for attachment of items such as poles on the exterior of the pack. I love the small fleece pocket at the top of the bag. The outer pocket is great for putting wet or smelly items in. The water bottle pockets can be a bit of squeeze if you have a full pack for a Nalgene but it still fits. There is also a hole for a hydration bladder to fit through. Overall great pack for everyday life and day adventures! Love it.

The Best I've Found, But....

I've been looking for a quality pack with less than 20 liters capacity for some time now. Something I can use to carry lunch, a gps, a rain shell, and some water. The volume on this one in great, but it could have been longer and thinner to fit my back better. Why does everyone design packs to fit a laptop these days? I like the fact that I could ditch the waist strap without having to cut them off. also that the chest strap could be dropped as low as it is. That said, a one-size-fits-all pack is never going to ride perfectly on a 6'3" person.
