Guide Eye Insert Issue

Eye insert on the guides are poor quality. Already had one come out and now need to replace the guide. Just a matter of time another one goes out.

Marathon Guadian Fishing Pole

I bought it 3 weeks ago used every week and very strong and tardy. Rod is light yet very strong and good for my flounder fishing. Strongly recommend if it on sale for 45-50$ price range

Great Blank, Horrible Reel Seat

I bought a handful of these rods across sizes based largely on positive reviews. The blanks themselves are great and i had no issues with the eyes. After using them for multiple inshore and nearshore species however they have a major flaw. The reel seat doesnt allow for a proper fit. I tried numerous reels and sizes and no matter what the reel was still a bit loose when under pressure from a fish. Unfortunately im now out several hundred bucks and have a stack of brand new rods just sitting there (6 or so). Completely annoyed.

Underrated

Had the M 7’6” on a 2500 reel for two years now. Honestly find myself going to this rod more often then my more expensive Bulls Bay rods. Top handle had a nice tapered cork grip that sets the reel low down so your hand isn’t crowded. And the lower grip has the perfect dimensions (in my opinion). Caught everything from Flounder to Jacks and the rod held strong. Give it a try for the price

Favorite Series

This saltwater rod is easily my favorite now. I used it all month long (March) with no disappointment. Between braid, mono, jigs, lures and bottom fishing it continued to perform. Its a strong recommend for me. I will be looking into getting the heavier rod and reel set up in this series this year.

Great Rod Except Top Eye

This rod is one of my favorites I have bought and returned a few rods. I like using this rod for snappers to large snook the problem is the top eye insert shatters easily. Put better eyes on the rod and it will be one of the best if not the best for under $100.

5 Month Review

I bought two of these rods with the intention of using them for small catfish, bowfin and small Caro. As the photo shows, these things can handle nice size fish. I have caught many large catfish, bowfin and gar on these rods. These rods prove that you don't need to drop $300 on a GLoomis rod. For that price, you can buy six of these rods. I highly recommend this rod!

Awesome Rod

I’m an inshore guide in and around Dauphin Island Alabama. For the value and for dependability the Rods are my top choice. I use 20 pound braid on these rods and they have caught from little small rat reds to some monster bull red fish. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome Inshore Fishing Rod For The Money

With over 30 years of fishing experience and owning several name brand and custom fishing rods......I don’t think you can find a better rod or better value for your hard earned dollar than these rods. The 8’ rod has 10 aluminum oxide guides, a smooth no wrap tip so that braided lines won’t catch and tip wrap and an extra fast MH action that I like to whip BIG fish in a hurry. The 8’ length is great for long casts to spooky fish and the hook keeper is just above the reel seat where it needs to be to keep hooks away from your fingers when transporting to the boat, kayak, or vehicle. If I were designing a rod for inshore species, this line-up meets or exceeds my expert level demands and specifications! Yes.....there that good! Spend more money on a custom rod if you want to....but why would you? Beachsnooker tested and approved!

Great Saltwater Rod For The Price!

Im6 graphite, solid construction, great price will get the job done for inshore and offshore needs. Avid Florida saltwater fisherman for the price you can’t go wrong. Not a gloomis but you could buy 4 of these for the price and they hold up just as well.

Best Rod For The Money!!!

These are more or less the Calico Jack Rods once owned by Hurricane. They sold this line and now they live on with a different name but are nearly identical aside from cosmetics. These are the absolute best rods for the money bar none. I own 4 of these Marathons and 6 Calico’s. Have used extensively. Caught hundreds if not a thousand fish since owning. Even hooked my pants on one laying horizontal in the boat while I was running to the front. Put a complete J in the rod. I stared at it fully expecting it to break as I unhooked my pants. Nothing. Not one single issue. I can’t say enough good things about them.
