i was disappointed in the omega pro 3 , the gear ratio is low and it doesn't cast as well as my omega Z03 or and my zebco bullet , the omega pro 3 is $80. and the bullet only $100. and you get a lot more solid and better casting reel with the bullet , i am going to exchange it for another bullet

I bought this reel bout 3 weeks ago and have already caught over 250 crappie with it... Still cast and reels just as smooth as the first cast... I’ve owned over 25 zebco 33’s through out the years and almost all of them the thumb button is broken... This new zebco reel took care of that problem, bout time... I liked it so much I have since bought another one... true story

Cast great,great drag. Adjust drag before spooling line to avoid line from binding on spool.

I bought this a month ago for my wife and had to return it within a week. There were problems with the drag, a common complaint, and, line would slip off while she had her thumb on the casting button before she released it. Dicks, as usual, took care of the problem. They ordered her a new one that came in 3 days. The new one came in a generic Omega Pro box with a gold star by the 3 series. It said it was pre-spooled with 10lb Cajun line....it wasn't. The double handled retrieve was scratched. There was no manual....just a generic Zebco single printed page. Generic Zebco warranty card. Most of the advertising and the description of this reel on every web page is wrong in several areas because, once again, it is generic and supplied by Zebco. The first time she used this reel I had set the drag at 4lbs with a digital scale. She hooked a 1 1/2 lb bass and could not land it. I told her to thumb the drag as it suggests in the literature that came with the reel. My bad. I tried the reel myself to see what would happen. The reel is smooth and the retrieve is slow but that is not a bad thing. I set the drag at 4 lbs and hooked a fair sized bass. I had to thumb the reel several times to get the drag adjusted so that I could get him close enough to shore to throw him on the bank. Overall, is it worth twice the price of Zebco reels that are half this price? By the way, I called Zebco and sent them an email. I got a return email from a 3rd party at some unknown location....who specified they did not work for Zebco and I could not rely on what they sent me.
The Old Man and the Lake
I am not much of a fisherman but was going to a Fly-In Canadian Lake for walleye and northern pike with my son and needed a dependable reel. Reel operated without any technical problem and I was satisfied. The line that came with the reel, though, seemed to loose its rigidity after a couple of days of heavy use however. required cutting off 30 of line and re-rigging so no complete satisfaction. Maybe I expected too much but again do not have a lot of experience with other models and lines.

the best creek reel yet I've used, light but heavy and strong enough for creek smallmouth placed on the perfect 6 ft rod, only complaint is wish the gear ratio was a bit more faster

Bought one for my grandson last year and he loves it. Tried it myself and found it to be an excellent quality, smooth operating reel. I was so impressed with it that I went and bought one for me! I would recommend it to anyone wanting the best spin cast reel available.

I have been fishing with this reel for over a year now, can't complain. I use it for Crappie fishing. It casts like a dream, and reels like it to. Smooth reeling with 7 ball bearings. Zebco has really proven themselves with this one, and will hopefully continue to do so. All in all the omega pro is a reel everyone should own because of its toughness, and durability.

Just 2 month's ago I caught a Red Bass in Clapboard Creek, Fl. that was 30 pounds and 32 inches long on a Zebco 88 reel that the drag never once messed up and took 15 minutes to land that fish. Thank you for a great product.

Wow a great reel and clearly top of the line. This was recommended by "Mike" an excellent and very knowledgeable employee. Mike's assistance was so valuable to me not only for the purchase of the this reel, but a great rod along with a number of super lures, etc.Love the reel and also the fact that it included an extra spool. If you want quality and a reel that will put a smile on your face every time you use it. This is it. My father and his twin are 72 years of age and for the last 30 years fish at least 3 times a week during spring summer and fall. Bought both of them this reel 2 years ago and they love it. Best reel they ever used they say. Fish trout in lakes streams and ponds aboard boat and standing on shorelines in central Newfoundland, Canada. My father is a very very respected fisherman and knows his stuff! And he gives this reel a 11 outta 10 and has always loved the zebco brand. I'm not my father's son when it comes to his fishing abilities but own this reel as well and it's a joy to use. Have mine on a ugly stick gx2 and it's a beast for trout. Cast just as far as open face reels fishing beside me.

Smoothest cast and reel i have ever used. I bought for my hubby. I bought another brand. will take mine back and get this one for myself also.Dicks shipping is slower than Amazon. Cheaper on Amazon. but you can count on Dicks. They need to improve on shipping.

I bought this reel when they first came out `It is the best reel I have ever used. I liked so well I bought the smaller Omega Pro 2 It also works well for me .The Omega Pro series is very smooth to use and are very well maid. I just wish they could be maid in the USA.
