Ultra Light (Which Comes At A Cost)

First off, this is an incredibly light, well made sleeping bag. It delivers on all those promises.I am 6’2” 220# with broad shoulders and the bag fits like, well, a mummy bag. I was worried I might be claustrophobic in it but I found when all “mummied up” it is comfortable, albeit snug. I find it to be good down to about 40 degrees while wearing a full merino wool base layer, wool socks and a hat. I also used a silk liner to make sure I stayed toasty. I would have made it at 40 degrees without the liner but I would not have been as comfortable. I would imagine at 45 degrees i wouldn’t need the liner.BTW, I would consider myself a slightly warm sleeper. My only knock on it is the shorter zipper, which of course is needed to get to this weight. This zipper does not allow the bag to be opened up and ventilated in warmer weather which limits its use for summer. This is just a guess at this point though, as I haven’t used it yet in summer. Overall this is an excellent ultralight bag for three-ish seasons and with some creativity could probably get you through most of your needs. I just wish the zipper was longer.

Heavenly, Lightweight, Packs Down To Nothing

Worth every penny! This is my 2nd Western Mountaineering sleeping bag (my other one is heavier/rated for colder weather) and I am obsessed. This bag was a little slice of heaven and kept me comfortable, warn (but not sweaty as I find down is more breathable than synthetic) in temperatures that dipped into the 40s-50s. It is SO lightweight and took up very little space in my backpack when I packet it in a lightweight and waterproof Sea to Summit compression sack. I also love that it is made in the USA.
