I slept in this bag for 2 months straight through a very rough winter while working a job in Green River Wyoming. I was living out of a tent and had a good winter sleeping pad (Exped UL Winter). The Versalite is amazing. temperatures routinely went into the single digits and negatives, and I never got cold. I rarely wore baselayers, just boxers and a light shirt. I used the bag again for a long job up in Maine during another winter. Similar conditions. I would say the 10 degree rating is very, very conservative. I would feel safe in this thing well into the negatives. Been using the bag for about ten years now for jobs, mountaineering and backpacking. Still in wonderful condition.

Just returned from a 15 day adventure motorcycle trip. Whereas last year on a similar trip I was sleeping in a uncomfortable ( old ) sleeping bag this years trip I slept in the lap of luxury. My new Western Mountaineering bag Surrounds me with 850 fill power down enclosed in material that has a very high thread count to keep my down intact. Every aspect of this piece of equipment is a joy to behold from the construction of the bag to the details of the stitching. Made in San Jose, Ca and my bags builder signed their work. The adage of by well cry once apply to investing in a great nights sleep in the great outdoors.

These are fantastic bags for my wife and I when backpacking in the Sierra Nevada's. For over thirty years we have zipped our bags together. But now we have dropped a pound and a half each from our previous bags with the Versalite bags, and are still comfortable into the low 20's without any heaters or warming of water bottles. Highly recommended.

Bought this for winter backpacking (nothing under 10 degrees ever). I used the Western Mountaineering vapor barrier inside my bag and was still a little chilly at 22 degrees. Was hoping it would be more true to rating for me (I know everyone sleeps differently). I did everything right - dry base layers, ate something warm before bed, extremely high R value sleeping pad. Just still felt a little chilly at times through the night. Sad, because I normally use a quilt and thought a bag would be better for winter in Pennsylvania. I'm trying again soon and hopefully I have better luck on the next outing with this bag.

I’ve heard nothing but good things and seen glowing reviews of Western Mountaineering bags and finally decided to make an investment in backcountry comfort. So glad I did. The quality is obvious and this will get me through3 seasons in New England.

This is my first Western Mountaineering sleeping bag and I’m very happy with it. It’s super puffy and warm. The hood and neck cinch seals in the heat and keep the cold out. It’s worth every penny!

What a great sleeping bag! The temperature was in the 20s and I was toasty warm in this bag. It packs down fairly small and it lightweight for long backpacking trips. I love it.

Most bags say survival rating this bags "survival rating" is a comfort rating. Get this bag if you want the best, the price kind of indicates that.

I am 5’6 and bought a 6 foot bag. I like to sleep the nude and this one is great for that on a cold night. I use it as a quilt when it gets too hot and works great.fits perfect in a sea to summit size M bag. Used it in temperature down to 36 degrees so far and slept great. Have yet to use it in colder weather but I’m sure it will hold up. I sleep side ways and you can do that with this bag. This is a good main bag.

Bought this for my spouse. She is about 5’9” and sleeps cold. So far we’ve used in spring temperatures (lows in 30s-40s) and she has been very satisfied with the warmth and is confident it can go much lower. It’s also extremely plush and comfortable. The green is a nice color. Weight is excellent. Packed volume with the included stuff sack is nice and fits with some effort into the sleeping bag compartment in the Osprey Ariel. I don’t see a need to further compress it with a compression sack. Only con is the price but we’re expecting this to last for at least the next decade or longer.

Bought this to replace my old and heavy TNF Superlight 0F. Spent three nights in the White Mountains (5F) and fours nights in Northern Minneaota (10F). I was warm with just thin wool baselayers inside a Hilleberg tent. Well worth the money.

Very Nice bag and Awesome customer service directly with western mountaineering ! Let’s just say I had a “personal issue” with my first bag and Liam at WM definitely exceeded my expectations on exchanging it. I have the Versalite short and I’m 5’-5” and I don’t bottom out in the foot box like I do in my north face blue kazoo short (also a good value) And You won’t find a bag that has a better NO SNAG zipper than this. Super fluffy and sized just right. So quit eying that high dollar jacket and get this instead.

Pretty & funky colored bag. I didn’t get a chance to use it as our Sierra backpacking trip was cancelled due to fires... but the brief time I cuddled in it at home... I was happy. Can’t wait to try it out. My previous bad was from Hike&Bike.

This was my first time splurging on anything related to the outdoors. My old sleeping bag was a 35 degree bag and wasn't cutting it for me since I'm a super cold sleeper and needed a warmer bag for a backpacking trip around Mt. Hood (Oregon). It's so squishy and comfortable. I have to comment though, that even with a nice sleeping pad and a sleeping bag liner, I was just a perfect temperature at night. BUT this was mid august. So I'm worried that I may get cold if I go camping in the fall if I wasn't too hot in it this summer. Well I´ll just have to see and maybe will just need to wear more layers then. Since it's down, it doesn't pack down tooo small, but I just bought a water proof compression sack and I'm hoping that will make it take up less space in my sleeping bag.
