While i did not own a helmet my wife has a helmet that she Periodically wears, mostly when biking with her parents, who wear helmets. I am pretty sure it is the first helmet ever made. I actually think it is older than she is, possibly a hand me down from a much older sibling who likely never wore it. Not only is it heavy, it is a white hard shell with white foam interior and looks pretty dated and worn. When she wears it she does not have much to say good or bad. When we would ride just the two of us she almost never wears it. I recently did a sanctioned ride wear a helmet was required and wore my wife’s helmet. While It was actually nice peace of mind having it on, it fit and felt terrible. As i was signing up for another ride requiring a helmet I decided to buy a proper helmet. I started looking and found a signal in white at DSG. I bought it and tried it on and was satisfied with how it fit. I did not wear it until my ride that required it. Finally i wore it on the ride, WOW It had an awesome fit and i was happy with the number of vents and how light it was. Darn it is so well vented light and comfortable you dont even know you have it on. Yesterday we decided to take an all day ride and i said that I would wear my new helmet so of course my wife wore hers. Halfway through she asked …no begged me to try my helmet . On several occasions she mentioned how nice it was compared to her ancient helmet. When we switched back she only wore her helmet briefly before removing it and hanging it on the handle bars and announcing she wanted a new helmet too. Any questions just ask my wife.
