I've lost count of the number of replacement bite valves I've bought now - this is at least the third, possibly more. I leave it open most of the time to reduce the amount of movement, but the plastic level still snaps and really hurts when it cuts you. I've also got separate sheaths - I've only had the bladder for about 3 yaers and I use it every weekend, and generally I find it good, but this is very frustrating :(

I also had a similar problem. Very good and also only bought within the last year. Until the on/off turn dial broke causing a sharp edge which cut me. Hope it doesn’t happen again.

The 90 degree bite valve has a perfect design and I feel it lets the water flow better then a straight one.

Hope this lasts longer than the last one. Disappointed that I had to buy one in less than a year of having bought the original.

It's great that you can get replacements for these, but I'm about to buy my third one - the lever on the first two both broke after only a few months' use. When it snaps it leaves a very sharp point and you can't continue using it. Apart from that, I'm really happy with the bladder, and the lever is good for stopping water flow / spillage when you don't want it (unlike the Vango bladder I had before), which is why I'm persevering even though this is annoying.
