Broken Bottle

Fed Ex delivered and upon opening the product was broken and shoved deep into it’s manufacturing packaging that was visibly tattered and torn … should never have been shipped if the person handling the order had any good conscience !

Terrible Plasticky Smell And Degeneration

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Terrible plasticky smell and degeneration of the opening. Hard to pack due to its construction.

First Bladder Had A Defect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First bladder had a defect but the item was replaced quickly and with minimal effort. Wide mouth bladder makes for easy open, fill, and expulsion of air. Fastening inside a pack is easy and secure. Segmented tubing is a nice touch. Bite valve works well but seems a little overly complicated - the lock is not obvious but that is a minor detail. Excellent product and I will be phasing out bladders from "the competition".

Met Or Exceeded All Expectations

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Met or exceeded all expectations during our trip to Costa Rica. We stayed cool and hydrated during a 3+ hour hanging bridges tour thanks to our Osprey backpacks and 2.5L reservoir.

A Great Add To My

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great add to my Osprey pack. Fits as it was designed. The top fold and slide lock work smoothly. Short 4 miler to test this Fathers Day went well. Very happy so far! Looking forward to the test this fall in RMNP, UT Big Five and GC.

Taste Terrible!! I Have Tried

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Taste terrible!! I have tried bacon soda, hydration pack cleaning tablets and denture cleaning tablets. I have cycled probably 25 reservoirs full of water through it since I have had it. Let it sit overnight for many nights. Nothing helps. I cannot recommend this product. Unless you like a plastic taste do not get this Reservoir.

Scored On A Used Running

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] scored on a used running vest, but it didn't have a Bladder, This one fit the need and is so easy to clean after a run. Bonus Points for having it on sale when I needed it. Half off everyone else's price.

I Purchased This Bladder For

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this bladder for a friend who was heading to Africa to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. A similar bladder came with her Osprey pack but she needed another bladder so we could add the tube insulation so her water would not freeze in the tube portion that extended from the pack itself. She ended up using this new bladder with the tube insulation to keep her water warm on the upper portions of the mountain and cool at the lower altitudes. Everything worked perfectly and no leak even with daily refilling and rough treatment. A great reservoir for any hiking trip.

Can't Believe They're Still Selling These

This is so frustrating. I bought one of these for my partner and the hose kept coming out of its socket - literally just would not stay put. I thought it was a fluke, so bought another one for me (because I love Osprey) and not only would the hose not stay in the socket again, but this one also leaked. I unpacked my pack on the first night to discover both of my heavy flannels laden with water!!! 100% unacceptable, and a big dent to Osprey's reputation in my mind. Also, while minor, I also find the structure of the bladder to be a bit frustrating. There are these little guide holes that you're supposed to mash the hose through to support it (I guess), but it's not clear why you would need to do this, and the holes end up just pointing the hose off to the side, which is AWAY from where the hose opening tends to be in most packs (which is in the middle). Not sure how they managed to get this so wrong, but they should absolutely stop selling these bladders until they're more ready to deliver an outstanding product.

Terrible Plastic Taste

I have had many of these bladders (Osprey has been good about warranty replacement) but every single one maintains a strong taste of plastic in the water. Yes, I've tried, freezing, lemon, vinegar, warm water... I've filled, emptied, and dried repeatedly. After months and gallons of use, these packs will pollute my fresh water within just a couple of minutes with the strong taste of plastic. It is very hard to stay hydrated when your water tastes like it's giving you cancer! Apparently, I have a sensitive palette, as I can't understand why more people aren't complaining of this issue. I've experienced this with six of these bladders! Honestly, the bladder would be 4.5 stars if it wasn't for this deal-breaking problem.

Does Not Clean Well Regardless Of What You Do

Day hiking, trail biking, gravel grinding

Leaks At Seam

I received the 2.5 liter bladder with a mtb pack. I removed it from the pack to clean it before my first use. Added warm water and a cleaning tablet and let it sit for 30 min. Came back and it was half empty. Upon inspection, it was leaking at the bottom from the seam. Love the pack, but the bladder is way too thin.

Bite Valve Is Worst Design: Not Clean, Freezes, Clumsy

I snowshoe, hike and bike. Love the design of the Osprey packs but HATE the bite valve. Having to grab it to turn it open after using my hands for other things- including the dogs- is a germ trap. It always freezes so it is useless when snowshoeing even though I use the insulated cover and hose and bladder insulation. Must always put in in my jacket even when not that cold out. Wish you had an alternative.

Good Product

We got this not realizing it was for youth and needed for an adult. We can't give a bad review on our lack of not reading the size. It is a good product.

Great Product.

I use this hydration bladder for day and multi day hiking. Find it really useful when I need to carry extra water especially in hot weather. I've been using mine for over 12 months and never had a problem with it. Easy to clean if you follow the instructions, easy to fill and the bite valve and magnet work really well.
