Love This Stove

The wind block collar adds a bit to the weight but is more than worth it. Works great on windy nights. Best stove I've ever had. Cup locks into place so it's stable and heats up very fast. Heats 1 cup of water for me with 100 g fuel so I get 10-13 meals from one small cannister.

Msr Windburner

I bought a windburner and have nothing but problems. The gas won’t run. It’s like the burner is blocked. I got one good use out of it and not it’s just an expensive decoration. I tried the fix on YouTube regarding the legs trying to reset the burner. No good. It was in warranty when it happened but I never got the chance to drive back up to them as they area 2 hour round trip.

6+ Stars!

This burner is absolute Best-In-The-World! I can light the fire in all weather, from summer to deep winter. Just a kindly wish from here: Make it a little lighter, and no system will be able to compete with this burner!

Great System With Only Minor Flaws

A great 3-season backcountry stove overall. The lid fitment requires a little extra persuasion most of the time. Additionally, the outside of the burner area will corrode if there is any moisture on the fuel canister when repacked on the trail (picture is after cumulative 30 days of use over 3 months).

Great System Until It Isn't

I have thoroughly enjoyed my windburner kit. And has traveled with me all across the country. However, it's stopped working for reasons unknown, and unlike a lot of other MSR stoves, there is no maintenance kit for this that I can find.

Best Stove I Ever Bought

Had it for two years now no issues whatsoever, best stove I have ever purchased! MSR really does make the best stuff.

Great Buy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded from the pocket rocket to the wind burner stove and I am extremely pleased. More stable base than before. Boils water less than a quarter of the time and is very fuel efficient.

Cozy Melted

After about 10-15 uses the outside cozy has started to melt. I emailed MSR and no one got back to me. I have a lot of MSR products, but this will be my last.

Very Efficient

I bought this a couple weeks ago and am very happy with it! Boiles the water at 8000 ft so fast, I could not believe it. Light weight and made well. Very easy to put together and break down. This is my first MSR product and I am impressed.

Quality Product

Overall Excellent Stove. Easy to Light, constant flame that is resistant to the wind. Would buy again.

One Big Fault

I have used this stove a good bit. It works great…until you can’t get the cup off the bottom. It left me without cooking ability on my latest trip. I couldn’t get the cup off the bottom so it’s non functional if you can’t do that. I tried everything at my disposable. It that cup gets underneath the cozy, there is some sort of vice grip that it does to the cup. I tried prying and hitting it against things. Nothing. I didn’t even push the cup on there hard the last time I used it. I’ll be looking for a more reliable stove. Nothing like getting stranded on trail. As long as the cup comes off, it’s great. Just a warning.

Worth Every Penny

This stove is super reliable and kicks butt when you need it to, I mostly use it to melt snow for water and it does an awesome job at that even when it gets a little wet or dirty! One of my favorite pieces of equipment

Efficient, Quick, Durable

Comparison of weight to efficiency is unmatched. Even in pretty cold conditions close to freezing, still boiled quickly. Packs down to small and compact size.

No Field Use Yet But Impressed So Far

I haven’t gotten out to the field to try the windburner yet but I’ve ran it at home to make sure everything works. It was about 20 degrees outside and windy when I was running it and this little guy was cranking heat with no regard of the outside conditions. The packability is impressive and tucks into my pack well. It doesn’t add much weight either which is a bonus considering I’m rucking with about 80 pounds of gear. I’m curious to see how it holds up over time.

The Msr Windburner Is An

The MSR WindBurner is an awesome addition to my camping and hiking gear. Boiled water in minutes on a very cold Minnesota winter day with light wind. I was enjoying hot chicken broth & noodles in less than 10 minutes. I can't wait to take it snowshoeing and winter camping. An ease to use and it completely stores within itself.
