Light Weight Travel Companions

Lightweight and boils water fast. Cools down fast too. I used mine for 5 days and 5 nights on the Kalalau Trail. It was perfect for my needs. Boil water for freeze dried foods.

Stop Using Plastic

I love this pot, but I'm not happy with the plastic lid. I lit the wrong burner and there wasn't enough water left in this kettle, and by the time I noticed what happened the lid had completely melted and was sending plastic smoke into the air. It was totally my fault and I was going to replace this, but I still feel a little sick so I'm nervous about whatever chemicals they used to produce the lid. Plastic has no business anywhere near a hot surface. Unrelated to this screw up, the handle gets screaming hot so you need hold it with a towel, which gets kind of annoying.

Very Light

Slightly disappointed. I did not realize the lid and the bail are plastic. I tend to forget I am heating water for tea and don't know if extended boiling will affect the plastic. It is a nice size and very light. I used a small pot in the past. This holds more water, so should be more useful. I think I can have a cup of tea and rehydrate a diner bag with one pot. Instructions say to not use on a high flame, presumably to keep from melting the plastic bail.
