Light Weight Travel Companions

Lightweight and boils water fast. Cools down fast too. I used mine for 5 days and 5 nights on the Kalalau Trail. It was perfect for my needs. Boil water for freeze dried foods.

Stop Using Plastic

I love this pot, but I'm not happy with the plastic lid. I lit the wrong burner and there wasn't enough water left in this kettle, and by the time I noticed what happened the lid had completely melted and was sending plastic smoke into the air. It was totally my fault and I was going to replace this, but I still feel a little sick so I'm nervous about whatever chemicals they used to produce the lid. Plastic has no business anywhere near a hot surface. Unrelated to this screw up, the handle gets screaming hot so you need hold it with a towel, which gets kind of annoying.

I Love This Pot. It's

I love this pot. It's light, the handle is well designed, it makes it much easier to handle boiling water for drinks and rehydrating food.

Correct Size For Preparing Generously

Correct size for preparing generously sized meal portions for one plus a cup of coffee for breakfast. Easy to handle without pot holders and a great pour spout

Very Light

Slightly disappointed. I did not realize the lid and the bail are plastic. I tend to forget I am heating water for tea and don't know if extended boiling will affect the plastic. It is a nice size and very light. I used a small pot in the past. This holds more water, so should be more useful. I think I can have a cup of tea and rehydrate a diner bag with one pot. Instructions say to not use on a high flame, presumably to keep from melting the plastic bail.

Excellent, But Too Small

I love this cute little teapot, but I wish it were a little bigger. There is not quite enough water for 2 bowl of oatmeal and 2 cups of tea/coffee. If you fill it very full it has a tendency to boil over out the spout and douse the stove. This is perfect for solo use or just tea, etc. Not quite big enough for two people. A 1.2L pot would probably be perfect foe us.

Super Lightweight!

Haven’t taken this on the trail yet, but really happy with the weight. Don’t need a lot of cooking capacity because I primarily rehydrate, so this is perfect for my needs and cute to boot.

Sweet

I am full time work/fun living out of my small travel trailer. The Pika is practical, small and light and I dig the style (style points count for something) I haven't used it a ton yet but its a nice durable but light construction like other MSR products I have used.

Nice Teapot

This teapot works well. I would buy again. We use it to make tea at camp. It works well with out stove. The handle doesn't get hot. I do wish it had a whistle.

Perfect Size Pot For My

Perfect size pot for my solo adventures. Well made handle and I like that the lid stays on while I am pouring the hot water.

Love This Little Teapot!

Surprised at how much I like this teapot. The wider base and shorter height means I don't worry about it tipping over. The handle stays up in position and doesn't get hot so I can lift it easily without reaching for a rag. With the 'clear' lid, you can see what's going on inside; though, that being said, I know when the water is ready by the amount of steam coming out of the spout. And that spout! It's perfect for my needs. Consistent pour (I can count the ounces I need as I'm pouring and it's always the same); and, no dripping! I actually take both this teapot and my 550ml cup so I can boil enough water for my freeze dried meal and have enough water for a cup of coffee, and still be able to boil more water in the teapot for other purposes. I store my fuel canister in my 550ml cup and put my Pocket Rocket Deluxe in the teapot along with a lighter and a small clean-up wrap. A bag would be nice, but I use a mesh fruit bag which is lighter than the bag that came with my cup. I originally wanted measuring marks, but find it unnecessary since (as I said), the pour is so consistent, it's unnecessary. Very pleased with my purchase.

Just The Right Size

Bought this recently for making pour over camp coffee. Perfect size and packs easily in my bin for car camping. I could see this being useful in backpacking as well, due to its tiny size and light weight.
