Beautiful Tent, But Serious Manufacturer Defects

I was looking for a compact and lightweight 2 to 3 person tent to go backpacking with my kids who are into Scouting and we do a lot of backpacking now. I love the look of this tent, and the size and price are a fantastic deal compared to a lot of the competitors. However, it appears you get what you pay for and that lower cost comes with tent components that are poorly manufactured and break shortly after use. To make matters worse, reaching out to Cascade prove to be a waste of time because they refused to repair or replace any of the components which I would happily pay for, but you can’t even get anyone to call or email back after weeks to provide assistance.

Quality Tent

Bought this tent along with a couple others to compare them side by side. This tent was by far the best quality in my opinion. It is built sturdy in comparison to many of the other lightweight backpacking tents - seems like it will hold up to mountain winds than others I have tried

New Backpacking Tent For Grampy And Two Grand Kids

Very nice looking tent. I have not used it as of yet, but think I'm going to be happy. I like a true free standing tent. Last tent was not free standing.

Great 3-person Tent

I bought this tent to compliment my Copper Spur 2P tent for backpacking; needed something with a slightly larger footprint when camping with my partner instead of just my pup. Impressed with the quality, space, and design of this tent (expected as much from MSR). The rain fly is a bit wonky when needing to unzip from inside the tent; it slants down to the corner making it tough to open. I get the design intent, but it's not as user friendly as any other tent I've owned. Keeps the rain out, which is the most important aspect. Like every tent out there, I wouldn't want to stuff 3 normal sized humans in it. It's great for 2 adults and my 75lb dog. There's room for some gear inside the tent, the vestibules from the fly provide enough space for full size packs under them. The pockets sewn inside the tent are great for stashing stuff sacks and small things, and I like the loops at the top for hanging a small lantern. It's on the pricey side for a 3p tent, but you get what you pay for. Good quality materials, a pack weight that's only slightly more than my BA 2p tent, and very easy to setup. I've been backpacking with it several times already and it's a great piece of camp gear.
