Great Lightweight Filter

Have used this and the previous design for many outdoor trips. Simple to use and no pumping needed. Just fill with water and go. I wish the bottle was a little more rugged, as it can easily get a small pinhole leak if dropped. Overall a great personal water filter solution.

Perfect Water Filter

It's easy to use, quickly filters water, was great in the Backcountry while backpacking and camping, even used it mountain biking when I ran out of water. It's easily cleaned and super functional if you need to keep moving. The filter is so easy that anyone can use it, beginner all the way to expert! Best Filter Flask On The Market

This filter flask is by far one of my best purchases. I use this weekly during the summer to filter water during long mountain runs. I love that it fits in the flask pocket of my running vest!! 10/10 would recommend.

Fast Filter Rate

This filter is super easy to use and lightweight, I brought it on many hikes so far and have had no problems. The flow rate is so much faster than my old other brand filter and it is easier to figure out. This filter is perfect for anyone who wants a little glacier water to sip on! Definitely recommend

Great Filter!

Very handy size, great for day hikes or even overnight hikes with one or two people (if you each have one of these). For longer trips or more than two people, keep this as a backup or if you want to travel light to scoop up water along the trail.

Kept My Water Nice And Clean!

Just got back from a few days hiking around Mammoth Mountain and I have to say the Katadyn BeFree AC 1.0L was one of the best pieces of gear I brought. I used it at Fern Lake, Superior Lake, Holcomb Lake, NoName Lake, and down by Rainbow Falls. Some of those high-Sierra lakes can have that classic alpine “lake taste” — a little earthy, sometimes a hint of mineral or algae. The activated charcoal stage completely wiped it out. Every single time the water came out tasting clean and neutral, like it came from a fridge. No weird aftertaste, no weird smell. Just pure, cold water. That alone made the whole trip better. The soft flask is super easy to fill — just dunk the wide mouth in a lake or stream, screw the filter back on, and start drinking. Flow is excellent. I never felt like I was fighting it. A couple of firm squeezes and you’re getting water right away. When I was moving between lakes it was nice not having to stop for long. Fill, drink, keep hiking. It’s ridiculously light and packs down small when empty, which I appreciated on the longer stretches. The flip cap kept everything clean and didn’t leak in my pack. Cleaning was simple too — just a quick shake/swish in some water and it was good to go again. I’ve used other filters before that left a slight plastic or chemical taste, or slowed down after a few days. This one stayed consistent the whole trip and the charcoal did exactly what it was supposed to do. If you’re heading into the Sierra (or anywhere with natural water sources), this little bottle is worth every ounce. Highly recommend.

Light Weight Easy To Use Filtration

Used it this past June climbing Mt. Shavano. Excellent flow rate and clean tasting water! Easy to use and super lightweight. Easily refilled our bottles in a short amount of time. Buying one for my son as well for our next 14’er.

Great Water Filter

Love this, a major upgrade. I have used this on several backpacking trips and it works great. I also love it for big bike rides when I don't want to carry a ton of water I can easily refill my bottles in the streams along the way.

This is the perfect lightweight water filter. I don’t drink out of it - I use it to fill other bottles. The non rigid bottle allows you to squeeze water through the filter and it’s incredibly easy. You can squirt the entire bottle out through the filter in about 5 seconds. Highly recommend for someone looking for consistent filtration and packability
