Versatile Family Tent

I bought this tent as my family has now extended and we are looking to stay active outdoors. It is fast to set up and has plenty of room. We really like that you can use it as a pergola when combined with the ground cloth. Btw get the ground cloth with it. Packing up too just a little longer but I was able to get ut in first try with no reattempts. Two people make the job go quicker. For reference, I had the entire tent assembled w/ rain fly in under 15 mins with single person first attempt. I could easily get that time down to around 5 mins once practiced. The vestibule is huge. A few other points of interest: -No threading of poles to set up tent. (There is short threading for the rain fly) -the tent fits in most standard tent pads (rain fly would extend off. - tall -overall good ventilation

Pretty Good So Far

We've set the tent up twice so far and appears to be of good quality overall, very spacious, and fairly easy to set up. It's possible to set it up alone although challenging. The only issue I've had is the rainfly ripped a bit at the pocket where the pole that runs front to back is supposed to sit. It was a rather tight fit despite the rainfly not being secured at any spot and apparently was too tight of a fit, although the pocket is the only problem and the rest of the rainfly is fine.

I've only had the tent up a few times and have yet to field test it but it appears to be a quality tent. Definitely large and I'm digging the add on vestibule I got. The zippers can be a bit tricky but as long as you take your time I've had no major foul ups. Not so sure the kids will have the same results. All in all it's a huge quality tent and I'm pretty excited to get it out into the woods

Fantastic Tent!

I was looking for a tent to fit the whole family (2 adults, one child (another on the way), and one dog) and after so much research I came across this tent. It totally fit the bill, especially in terms of quality. It was a little more than I had wanted to pay, but it was so worth it. It is so spacious inside, especially vertically. The kiddies were having a ball inside! The corner pockets are awesome and very convenient. I was so impressed with the sturdiness of the poles - they were very firm and stood up well to the desert wind thanks to the great guy ropes. The pegs are good but not strong enough for rocky ground - bring extras if you're heading into rocky terratory. I was also impressed with the no-see-um mesh - we spent a night with the rain fly off and it was a magical night under the stars! Fantastic buy and I hope that it lasts for a long time!

Solid Choice

My wife and I were looking for more space after our first camping trip with our 6mon old in the Copper Spur 3. In that trip we discovered that everyone was much happier with the little one safely confined in his travel crib and that my delusion of a one-tent-for-all trips was naive. So we decided to go bigger. And since we're going big, might as well go Big. I'm glad we did. I spent some time researching the competition and was trying to decide between the Orbit 6, Wawona and the Big House. Frankly, the looks didn't impress at first (Marmot gets my nod there). All are similar in size and are arguably close in build quality. What was the deciding factor for us was the optional vestibule (with optional being the key word). My wife also liked that there was a separate fly (vs. the Wawona) for star-gazing on dry nights. So, we cried (in theory) once and made our purchase. We spent a week in the Smokies at Deep Creek with the Big House 6 and its vestibule. Overall, we were thrilled with the space. It was luxurious. It was amazing to be able to come in at night, stand up (6' 1) while I got ready for bed: put away my headlamp in the upper mesh pocket, go over to my duffle (all of our luggage fits), change, etc without having to disturb the entire tent. In addition to the travel crib, a Hikenture double sleeping pad (also a new addition and total game-changer), and our three and a half bags, a walkway in the center, we even had space for a small camping chair so my wife could privately feed our son....(insert mind-blown emoji here). In the vestibule, we'd store our chairs and a travel table for the little one when we were away or at night to keep them secure and dry. But you already probably suspected the space would be there...so here's my take on the other stuff.... Ease of assembly is good. It did rain (daily afternoon shower) and we kept dry. Breathability is acceptable. It's not quite as breathable in hotter temps as the Wawona (don't ask me how I know), but I expected that and it does have the benefit of a sealing off the vestibule (I suspect this tent will be more comfortable in dusty and cold conditions). I did struggle with the zipper a bit on the front door; BA tout their weather flaps on their zippers and though I do ultimately think it's a good thing, I found that it loves to get caught up in the zipper... even at one point in the middle of the night managing to put a visible loop offset in the zipper (much to the delight of my wife who, despite the prospect of having an inoperable front door, thought this 5m middle of the night struggle was primo entertainment). I can say that the zipper is durable because after exhausting all other options, I pulled on the thing as hard as I possibly could and managed to free and resolve the issue. So all's well that ends well? With care (and probably some improved guy tensioning), this is an avoidable issue. One other thing to note: this tent is huge...so presume you're taking up the entire tent pad with this one; we went border to border on the pad front to back and took up about 80% side to side. Aside from a few minor gripes, I suspect this tent will serve us well for years to come.

We took our new Big Agnes Big House 6 tent for its inaugural trip to Leadville, Co. Even in decent wind and rain, the tent held up fine and stayed entirely dry. I chose this tent because it was wide enough for two cots with a walkway in the middle, and tall enough so I didn't have to crouch down when inside (I'm 6ft). I also purchased the footprint and vestibule to keep gear dry during the rain. I prefer the ability to remove the vestibule when it isn't needed. I believe another Big Agnes model has a vestibule permanently attached. Both the footprint and removable vestibule performed as advertised. A great size tent that is easy to pitch and take down. We will be testing it again at Great Sand Dunes this weekend!

Great Tent. Easy To Set And Huuuge.

Bought this for the family for some nice big open camping. Bought the vestibule too, and with it it's absolutely massive. I wish they would have included a divider like for the bunkhouse. Also it would be nice to attach the vestibule to the fly when it's set up as just the sunshade. Only real gripe is that if you use the footprint and the tent and the fly together the pole tips aren't long enough to go through all three eye holes. Would have been nice for the vestibule to have the clips as well as eye holes like the footprint and tent do so that when using all 3 they could clip together since the tips won't go through all 3.

I purchased the Big Agnes Big House 6, the Big House 6 ground cover/floor, the Vestibule and the rope light kit for a recent Car Camping trip. I picked this tent because it was rated one of the best tents of 2020 by a number of websites (they were not wrong). I went with some seasoned campers (6 families) who do Car Camping a lot (one family camps 6-8 times a year). All of them came over and commented on how awesome our tent was. The item that was key, and got the most comments was the add-on Vestibule, that was huge! It is like having an extra room outside of the tent. You can roll up the outside door and it is a little patio, or zip it down and its a room. You can't stand up vertical like in the tent, but it is still tall. In the tent, we had 2 adults, 2 kids, a large duffel bag of clothes in one corner, and the other three corners had some space left, maybe 2'x2'? We slept three side by side and one across the top. There was room on either side of the 3 of us in the middle, you could have squeezed in a 4th. I put small LED lanterns and flashlights in all the pockets around the corners of the tent. There are high up pockets for keys, wallet, etc. There were clips and pockets spare for other things if we needed to store something. We had the rope-light kit which clips into a 3 sided square around the roof, and the on/off button hangs up high just as you enter the tent. It is a nice dull ambient light at night so you can see what you are doing, but not too bright. Outside in the Vestibule for a sense of size, we had two large roller coolers on the left and a 50 qt storage container, three more 50 qt storage containers on the right and tons of room in between where you could get changed, put on/off your shoes on the welcome mat. Everything comes packed so nicely in their Big Agnes carry bags. Inside the bags are more pouches and/or zipped compartments for the various parts of the tent. Each kit came with extras and tent repair splints in case you should accidentally damage a pole. We were in an area of calm, the winds were light and we did not need to use any of the tent pegs/stakes to tie down the tent cover/fly. It clips to the tent anyway, but has extra tie downs to keep it in place should you need it. The tent was sturdy enough all by itself. The tent is pretty easy to put up and take down. It is easier to have a second person for about 2 mins. while you do the long cross over poles and pull the fly over the top, but absent that assist, very easy to do by yourself. Everything is color coded, clicks in place, and all the straps have tightening straps to tighten things up when needed. I was VERY pleased with the tent and it was fun to get back into camping again! I think my only complaint with the entire setup, the Vestibule didn't come with any installation instructions that I could find? The tent & fly have these long tags on the carry bags with instructions, which is very convenient. Fortunately, the Vestibule was pretty intuitive and went up without a hitch. The Vestibule is worth it!
