The redesigned Big House is a big deal for car campers - the perfect portable shelter for housing the whole family under one roof.Perfect for road warriors, the Big House is designed to be tall enough to stand in, while the domed design deflects wind - keeping the structure stable in stormy weather. Large doors and an easy entry rainfly make it easy to get in and out - no small matter when you're exhausted from a day spent outside getting after it. Ample interior pockets provide plenty of organization for all your gear, and the backpack-style carry bag makes getting gear from the car to the campsite more convenient than ever.Simple enough to easily set up by headlamp after pulling up to a site late at night, and roomy enough for the whole crew to wait out a mid-afternoon rainstorm inside, the Big House is your go-to car camping oasis.

Design:

  • High-volume architecture provides a cavernous shelter built for the car-camping family or bike-riding buddies who want to stand up to change
  • Two large, smooth-opening doors featuring widows with two closure options: mesh only for ventilation or zip up the polyester layer for complete closure
  • Full mesh ceiling on inner tent for maximum airflow, moisture management, and for stargazing on clear nights
  • Quick Stash door keeper on tent body door makes stowing unzipped door quick and easy
  • Dual sliders and storm flaps on door zippers allow for ventilation while keeping inclement weather out
  • Color-coded webbing and buckles make set up easy, even after dark after rolling up late on Friday night
  • Pole-attachment points located on interior of rainfly provide perfect pitch and extra stability
  • Four ceiling pockets for off the ground gear storage
  • Backpack carry bag keeps components organized, making packing up and transporting your tent easy
  • Optional accessory vestibule (sold separately) adds even more enclosed space for gear storage and activities
  • Multiple interior loops for attaching gear lofts, accessories and mtnGLO® Tent & Camp Lights
  • Pre-cut reflective guylines and reflective webbing shine in the light of a headlamp, helping prevent tripping

Here's A Draft: Review Title: Worthy Successor To A 13 Year Old Favourite

My previous Big Agnes tent (the Jupiter's Cabin 4) lasted me 13 years of hard use, so when it was finally time to replace it I knew I wanted to stick with the brand. The Big House 4 has not disappointed. Shipping to Canada was surprisingly fast, and it was ready for its first trip almost right away. Setup was straightforward and the tent is genuinely spacious, plenty of room for me and my dog with gear to spare. Having two doors is a game changer. It's also impressively light for its size, and the backpack-style carry case makes it so much easier to move around than a traditional stuff sack. If it lasts as long as the last one, I'll be a very happy camper, ha!

Great Tent

Great tent! Add the vestibule and it makes it 11/10. Has a lot of room, great storage pockets and very breathable.

A Big House For Sure.

The Big House is so big. It’s great for car camping. It sets up simply enough. It’s good for tall people. You could have an office in there. Don’t let the shiny poles scrap on the ground if you want them to stay shiny. They do scratch.

Easy Up

It appears to be well constructed, easy to set up. Looking forward to using it.

Best Tent For Family Of 3 + Two Dogs

We love this tent! It's incredibly roomy and easily fits our family of three plus our two medium-sized dogs. We've been using it almost every week last summer for overnight rafting trips, and it's held up wonderfully. Setup is easy, and there's plenty of space for everyone to move around comfortably. Perfect for families who want both space and durability on their adventures!

Big House Rocks

I've spent a lot of time in this tent. I teach at gatherings where I provide my own housing and I've lived in it while caring for sick friends away from me home. It easily fits 2 people, 2 dogs, and excessive amounts of camping and teaching gear especially with the vestibule added on (not included)

Great Tent For Car Camping

It's big which is great, lots of space in it. Well built and easy to put up with just one person, but super easy with two. Only down side is that its still big even when packed down. It comes in a nice bag which is good though.

Amazing Tent.

My scouts and I were bone dry in a 4" of rain storm in 2 of these.

I Love The Big House!

I've owned many tents and I love this tent. It is quick to set up, roomy for two plus dog, lots of storage pockets, and it really keeps us dry here in the PNW. It is a well made tent, and there are lots of fun accessories available like the interior mat and the front vestibule to extend storage.

Love The Big House 4

This tent is very roomy and has worked great for my husband and I this summer on car camping trips. The tent is heavy but comes in a nice backpack style carrying bag. Only takes about 10 minutes to set up!

I Love Most Of My Ba Gear - Not This

We've used a Big House 6 for about 20 years. It's been great! The Big House 4 is a disappointment. Poor ventilation, awful placement of interior pockets, cheap poles, poor color choices (we do not like the canopy and floor being the same color. It makes set up more confusing). I hate to bad mouth BA. I love my Copper Spur, 4 sleeping pads (6, if you count the Double Eagle's Nest), and Dream Island double sleeping bag. This generation of Big House 4 just doesn't measure up.

Hands down, the best tent, no matter the size. Quality, handles storms, and looks amazing when set up.

Favorite Car Camping Tent Ever

out of 4 tents, this is by far my favorite for car camping - cant use it for any other kind of camping though given its monumental size

Great For Vehicle-accessible Camp Sites!

The Big House 4 is a great tent for camping at a rec site or close to your vehicle, but it's much too heavy and bulky for a true backpacking trip. It comes in a well designed bag that has convenient pockets for organization, instructions for set-up, and has straps for wearing it as a backpack for short distances. I've used it a handful of times for taking my wife and our dog out for weekend trips and it works exceedingly well for us. It's fairly large, and an average height person can stand inside with a slight hunch. The fly works well in heavy rain, however it doesn't give adequate cover for the two entrances, so you can't open the vents all the way without letting water in when it's raining. This can be remedied with the vestibule attachment (sold separately), but it would be nice not to have to buy an extra item to stay dry with the vents fully open. Other tents in the same price range allow for this out of the package, but I feel like I'm nitpicking a bit. Overall, the construction quality is very good and the material it's made of is pretty solid. I may invest in a footprint for the base of the tent in the future, as the material feels fairly thin and may be prone to punctures. Setup is simple, well designed and you can tell it's not a cheap tent as soon as you begin to handle it. I'd recommend it to anyone going car camping who wants something that will last.

Great Tent For 2+gear

Purchased this based on a rec from someone who spoke highly of it. After using it only once so far on a car camping trip, it's a great tent. Very spacious for two people + hiking packs and climbing gear. Easy to set up, slept in the center and had plenty of room on either side for movement and gear. If we end up consistently using an air mattress for car camping in the future, might consider the Big House 6 just for extra space, but it seems like an unnecessary luxury for current use. Plenty of standing room - at 6'3", my camping partner was surprised at the height of the tent. Ventilation was nice - kept a solid breeze moving through the tent so we didn't overheat. Haven't purchased the vestibule yet, likely will in the future.
