Choosing Kids Hats for the Winter
When you pick a winter hat for your child, it's important to consider purpose, fabric and style. At Public Lands, you can choose from a variety of styles, including baseball hats, trapper hats and beanies.
What Type of Hat Does Your Child Need?
To find the perfect hat for your child, you'll want to think about the purpose of the hat. For example, if your child needs a hat for short winter walks, you could select a beanie hat. For extremely cold weather, a trapper hat gives extra ear protection.
Baseball hats and hats with brims are ideal for sunny situations. For particularly cold days, a heavyweight hat will provide extra warmth.
What Fabric Is Best for Your Kids Hat?
At Public Lands, you'll find winter hats made from cotton, acrylic, jersey, and sherpa fabrics. Cotton fabrics are ideal for mild weather, and many cotton hats feature jersey linings for additional warmth. Generally, acrylic blends provide more warmth than cotton fabrics.
For the coldest days, hats made with sherpa fabrics are recommended. Usually, sherpa fabrics are made with polyester. Most of the hats sold at Public Lands feature machine-washable fabrics.
What Hats Fit Your Child's Personal Style?
Your child will want to feel stylish and confident in their new hat. If your child loves animals, you might want to buy him or her an animal beanie.
Pom beanies have been consistently popular for decades. They're available in darker colors for a sporty look. The lighter colors are very popular choices for increased visibility.
If your child likes sporty styles, they will probably enjoy a cap. After you choose your child's hat, remember to browse kids' pants, kids' gloves and kids' jackets for a coordinated outfit!
