[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this combo about a month ago, and overall it is good. Good feeling and response.
The line that comes with it, however, is straight garbage, and that's why it is 2 stars. I lost 2 little French spinners before I realized that my knots were fine; the lines was bad. Since switching to Berkeley line, haven't had a knot slip at all.
I'd recommend the rod and reel for a cheap light setup with a nice cork feel, but for your own sanity, ask the public lands team to replace the line on the reel. Useless.

Great For My Teen
My son wanted a new pole. This was great for him at his age and easy to use. Nice upgrade from a kids push button one.

Great For Beginners
I bought this for my son a month ago and we are both very happy with it! Easy to use for beginners, not too complicated, and it’s very light weight as well!

Sweet Little Pole
Perfect to bring along on the Kayak or Canoe, breaks down easily and it has good build quality. One thing I am zonking this for is the line that comes on it - it is not just bad, it’s hot garbage I could snap it with my hands with little effort. Swap the line out before you go fishing and you’re all set.
