We tried our Yukon Charlies’s snowshoes for a full week in Steamboat, CO. Loved them on groomed trails, fresh snow, powder snow. Our conclusion is that they were perfect for flat trails, a bit more difficult to use in downhill , steep slopes, as they had a tendency to slide forward. Loved the SPIN binding system but had one bad experience with the pull down system, as the cord broke and my shoe got stuck in the closed binder. May be a quality issue of the Northwave dial system that YC’s should retest…

Looks And Feels Cheaply Made

Just received snowshoes and was very excited. Until I looked them over and it looks like they are made of metal frame with PLASTIC CARDBOARD decks and string toe box. Seriously, I’m afraid to use these.

I returned the snow shoes the same day. The boot binders are made with string, the more I though about it they would not wear good and I felt they were cheap.
