Essential Component For Yakima Racks

I added the lock cores to my Yakima High Road bike carriers. One core locks the carrier to the cross bar, the other core is needed to make the built-in locking cable functional. The lock cores really are required to complete the installation. The lock cores are very easy to install with only the included blank key tool.

Work Well But Overpriced

These are definitely overpriced. However, they work well, handle moisture, and are easy to install. Made it easy to lock my bike rack to the crossbars and use the integrated bike lock to lock my bike to the rack. If you already have a yakima rack that uses these, they're a good buy.

I hate that they are so expensive but the companies say you have to use their brand locks to ensure fit. They work as intended, and it’s nice to have that piece of mind, but I just can’t understand why they are so pricey. I guess if nothing happens they are worth it. If my rack gets stolen, Yakima is gonna get a piece of my mind.
