Easy To Use, But One Rivet Failed

I had to replace a single handle on my kayak after the fabric had dry-rotted. It was extremely easy to replace with this kit after i removed the old handle's rivet. This kit comes with rivets and bolts and I used to rivets due to a lack of access to inside the hull. The rivets were easy to use, but required additional silicone to seal it off. They worked fine for a while, but after a few weeks one of the rivets popped out when I was carrying my kayak. It looked like it hadn't opened properly inside the hull. I easily replaced the rivet and it has worked fine ever since. Great product.

Good Product, Hardware Not Used

In replacing the handles on my kayak, I had to reuse the existing hardware. What came in the Yak-Gear kit was too small for the existing holes in my boat. Not a problem, and now I have extra hardware for another purpose ;-)

Kayak Handles

The original kayak handles are flimsy. Replaced with these as they are more durable. Have used these before on my other Kayak. They work very well.

Exactly As The Description Implies

Bought these handles to replace the worn out carry handles on my Native kayak. Took the originals off and installed the new ones. The Yak-Gear handles are exactly the same as the originals.

Yak-gear Kayak Handle Kit

I purchased one set of these Handles as replacements for the handles on my daughter's Dagger Piedra white water kayak. It took about five minutes to replace the existing handles on her boat with these, using the screws allready on the boat. I was very happy with the handles and ease of instilation so the next day I returned to Dick's and purchased a pair for my Dagger RPM Max and installed them. The replacement went very smoothly and was no problem at all. The handles are made of black tubuler webing with a black rubber grip. There is some type of stiffiner inside of the handle of probably molded plastic. They are beefy and give me a good and comfortable grip. They are also easy for a swimmer to grab from the water. They also seem quite strong. As stated above they are dark black and quite attractive. These handles seem to be of better quality than similar sets I have seen by some other brands. The kit comes with pop rivets and washers to install these handles anywhere on a rotomolded or fiberglass boat you like (After drilling holes in the boat.). A rivet gun is understandably not provided. In truth they could be mounted anywhere and on anything you would mount a two screw handle. I will definitely purchase this product the next time I need to replace grab handles on a Kayak and have recomended it to numerous other paddlers with older boats they are re-outfitting.

Just What I Needed

My 10 ft sit on top (brand not named...) came with weak handles. These were perfect. It was harder for me to get the old ones off than it was to install these new ones. Definitely recommend!!!
