Lovely Boots, Short Life

I bought a pair of these last November (about 10 months ago as of writing). They're very comfortable and capable, and quickly became my go-to daily shoes. I know that I wear my shoes pretty hard, and wearing them every day doesn't help, but I've worn the sole almost flat and I'm starting to experience loss of traction because of it. Compared to other footwear I've owned, I feel like this is shockingly short, especially with a vibram sole, I can usually expect to get at least a year or 18 months out of a pair of shoes. It's disappointing having to part with a shoe that I otherwise like quite a lot because of wear. As far as I know, these aren't a style that Red Wing can resole, which means I have to buy another pair, and I don't think I can justify getting these again if this will happen again.

Another Favorite

I've always liked and found Vasquez boots one of the most comfortable, supportive, durable boots These are perfect.....great fit, excellent hiking comfort, all around durable boot Thank you Vasque.

Great Right Out Of The Box

I considered other boots such as the Salomon and Merrell (I own both brands in a dedicated insulated winter hiker), but I was drawn to these boots by the price, appearance and the connection to Red Wing. These boots performed great right out of the box. My size 12 foot had plenty of room in these boots and didn't feel cramped at all. I hiked a 1000' elevation gain trail over the weekend on a semi-hot day and my feet were comfortable and did not feel overheated at all in this boot. I had no problems with grip on exposed rock at the summit. Vasque has just won me over. I love these boots so much that I am going to buy a second pair in the other color way soon.

I’m Pleased!

I’ve had my Talus boots for several years and have fallen in love with them all over again. I initially bought them for light hiking days that occurred infrequently. I had other boots for more extreme terrain and backpacking. Since I did not use these much and my yard work boots crapped out on me, I transitioned them to that role, which was beneath them, but hey…I already had them. It turned out that they worked great around the yard, but they really are structured for movement…and I end up standing more so than moving when working in my yard. I eventually started doing frequent and unloaded 3 to 5 mile hikes using another brand of boot that I got to replace these after they became yard boots. Turns out that these worked much better for those 3 to 5 mile outings than the other boots that replaced them (which are from a well-know bootmaker and compete with this model). The difference in ease of stride and all things ergonomic is noticeable. These boots are not perfect, but they do certain things very, very well. I have a high arch and typically border on needing wide footwear. With these, the fit is secure and snug without feeling tight or restrictive. No blood flow or blister issues at all, regardless of my sock choice. I consider them water resistant, not waterproof.

Awesome Pair Of Boots! Vasque Never Disappoints.

I am a surveyor and am on my feet all day. The Talus are my primary footwear for work. My profession seriously puts every aspect of these boots to the test. I walk/hike up to 8 or so miles a day, in some harsh terrain. My feet NEVER hurt and are always dry. As a side note, I weigh about 230 lbs and carry 30 lbs of gear on my back. I bought these boots a year ago and they seriously don't look it. I will definitely be buying another pair.

Slips Off Top Eyelet

The boots are comfortable but a pain to put on because the laces always slip off the top eyelet, which is too close to the top of the boot. Not at all like the previous pair of Vasque boots that I bought a few years ago.

Have the talus 6 months. I needed waterproof boots these are not. Plain and simple

Solid Boot

I bought this boot for work (landscaping) and have put at least 10 miles a day on them out of the box. Comfortable, breathable and fit true to size. Depending on the durability will definitely be buying again and update to a 5/5 if the boots last me a season.

Great Look, Poor Fit And Performance

I bought these last summer, and have not used them much as i usually hike in my low tops. From the first lace up, something was wrong. They lace up right to the very top of the boot, almost above the tongue. i went on a 20 mile hike like this, and it caused my front ankle to hurt for months afterwards. Conclusion - The lacing is poor. I finally took them out on a rough hike this summer, scaling rocks and in rainy conditions. The sole fell off on this first serious hike. Conclusion - poor quality. The most expensive hiking boot i ever bought, and the worst quality boot i ever owned. But they do look nice!

The Very Best One.

It is second boots that I bought. It is comfortable and lasting very long time. I wear it six days a week and never have a single complaining about it. No matter how hard you work, never slip or fall.

Good Solid Hiking Boot

Always loved my Vasque hiking boots so when it was time for a new pair I knew I wanted Vasque. Tried the Womens 10 but it was a little snug on my pinkie toe. Then tried the Mens 9 and found they fit much better. Well made, waterproof, vibram sole, pretty much everything I wanted in a good reliable hiking boot for all terrains.

Awesome Boots

I have had my pair for 18 months. I wear them for work and play everyday for 10 plus hours, the only thing that wears is the sole because I am walking on concrete for 8 hours a day, The sole is designed soft for hiking I knew this buying them.. other than that these boots rock.
