First time ever owning a Big Bro and so happy to finally it on the gear rack! Takes some learning how to find the right crack and right spot to place, but definitely worth the effort, once a good placement is found, its bomber.

They take a little getting used to. Placing and trusting them to hold can take a little bit, but once you do, they are very secure. They are light and pack tight on your harness and dont get caught on the rock.

Note that the correct cord to thread it with is Bluewater Titan cord with Dyneema, 5mm. The instructions say to thread it w/ 5.5mm cord, but the 5mm is the correct diameter, and this is the correct cord.

Great piece of gear! As it is barely available in Germany I was pleased as I got these items two months ago. The BigBro #4 is the final piece the my alpine rack for belaying bigger cracks. I can definitive recommend BigBros, especially #4 and #3.

Big Bros #3, #4 and #5 are literally the only choice. Valley Giants are too big and costly. Also, big bros never walk, never (dangerously) bind the rope and make great chocks to keep the rope out of the crack. #3 and #4 are the most useful size, below that a #5 cam does the trick.
