Product Information

A solid and durable construction, the Thule® Trailway XT Hitch Mount 4-Bike Rack transports your bikes safely to the trails or course. This car rack fits both 1 ¼” and 2” receivers with the included adaptor. Fit up to 4 bikes in the anti-sway cages for secured protection and travel. When you’re not biking, the switch levers allow the arms to fold down and tilt the carrier away from the car.

Decent Mount

I bought this about a month ago and it has worked ok. It may just be that its so new, the straps are really hard to open to take the bikes off. Also, the biggest disappointment is that the size and shape of the rack does not fit with most of our bikes, so we will need to buy adapters. And it doesn't come with any way to lock it to your vehicle or to lock the bikes to it, so we will need to also buy locks separately. On the plus side, it seems pretty sturdy, though there is a bit more movement in the joints than I expected, so at first I was really worried about the bikes bouncing around or the mount swinging down while the bikes are loaded or on the highway!

Quality Is Good But The New Design Is Disappointing

This is the new version of this model probably came out this year or last year. My boyfriend has a same model annd he purchased few years back and we love it. However, this new version is disappointing, other than the straps are horrible, the rubber pieces that bike sits on would move and hard to get them back to original position. After first 300 miles trip with one adult bike and kid bike, the 2 pieces where my bike sat on totally dislocated and were pushed further away by the force of wind, had to take it back and replace a new one, and this time my boyfriend put multiple clamps on both sides so make sure they won’t move. I know once few years they change the design but this time it failed. And the previous design is already discontinued

Bike Rack Is A Dream, Straps Are A Nightmare

Bike rack installs easily, feels solid, easily moves out of the way. Straps to hold bikes on rack are unusable. They make no sense, requiring pressure in an impossible way. I had to use a knife to cut off one of the straps. I need a solution!

Good Bike Rack

Had to buy in a hurry so could not do much research. Good rack. Don’t like straps, like large zip ties. Not strong, bent one on first day. Sometimes hard to get off.
