Stylish, Lightweight, And Surprisingly Warm
I bought the The North Face Men’s ThermoBall Jacket for my husband in the teal blue color, and he absolutely loves it. Solid Wind/cold Performance Vs. Other Jackets; An Essential
Have been a Patagonia nano puff jacket wearer for some time and needed a step up in thermal performance. This was definitely it! The fit is similar to a Patagonia nano puff large size, with a little more room in arms and waist. It felt a bit too spacious at first, but with layers it fits nicely. at first wear, I had scraped against a side of a truck while biking and.... NO DAMAGE! great durability test on the jacket day one (also I'm ok no injury). compared to the nano puff, I don't need extra layer to stay warm in Chicago winters. It's help up nicely so far; looks sharp with work clothes or other occasions. I thought it may be too shiny compared to what I was used to wearing, but it's actually pretty great -- not as shiny as others I've seen (e.g. Outdoor Research, etc) Sound: while walking, moving arms, there isn't that dreade "swish-swoosh" sound that you may get from other materials like down jackets. I appreciate down, but it's usually a sound problem like you're wearing a diaper. Not so with this jacket. Also I found TNF down jackets I wear a size up from my regular for best fit. Will see how jacket does for future seasons, I'm happy so far.
