I have the 7in shorts and they are great for running or hitting the gym. The only thing if that there are no pockets at all on the shorts for your phone.

Mostly Pros! Slight Cons!
Really great run shorts! These shorts are among the most comfortable I’ve worn for running. The material is extremely light weight and soft. Typically I dislike built in liners but this one I hardly notice. The inseam length is perfectly short for runs, probably a bit too short for much besides a quick stop after.
Slight cons, the only real pocket is the back zip, which would be fine except it’s slightly small. It’s a struggle to get my iPhone 11 out efficiently. I like the design of the pull draw string at the waist except when the shorts are weighted with my phone in tow and I’m moving fast the string slips some.

Not As Described/poor Quality
Shorts were listed as having a built in compression short, but they don't; it's a brief liner. Wore them once, washed them once and the logo started to come off. Didn't buy them for the logo, but now they look like counterfeit or something. I'm a big fan of The North Face, most of my trail running clothing is TNF. I say that because it pains me to leave a bad review.

Misleading Description
The description for these shorts state that they have "built-in compression shorts", this is not true. These shorts have a briefs liner. I was buying these for an obstacle course run and for leg day at the gym based off the description. As a running/gym shorts I do find it as a Pro that they don't have side/hand pockets which add extra bulk.
