Superb Canteen! Superior Stanley Strikes Again!
This canteen is fantastic! I've had it for a couple of years. I was so pleased when this came out. I remember the old days when my dad had a canteen, and when I saw this, I had to have one! It is a fantastic alternative to plastic bottles. However, It is NOT a thermal container, so expecting it to act like one is silly. I can't understand why anyone would berate this product. It's a rock-solid canteen. I don't think people understand the desription. This is a single-wall container, so if you put cold water in it expecting it to not condense, you don't understand elementary thermodynamics (cold things 'sweat' in environments warmer than them. Plastic water bottles do the same thing). Does nobody understand what a canteen is anymore?? Well I do, and I'm really happy with this product. It's rugged and holds enough water for a several-hour hike. I love that the cap is attached, the wide mouth (as canteens go), and the long strap is great for cross-body carry. I also keep it in the car as a back-up to my Quencher. Basically, if I'm out, my canteen is out. I am a long-time loyal Stanley fan. I have so many of their products. I have a picture of my dad carrying a Stanley lunch box to work back in the 60's. Out of sentiment, I bought one years ago. I loved it so much, I started buying their other products, switching away from another well-known thermal bottle brand. I swear by Stanley products.

It Is Exactly What It Says It Is
This is a stainless steel single walled non insulating canteen with a wide mouth to make it easy to clean. It’s a classic military themed canteen and NOT an insulated tumbler. It never claims to be either. The people reviewing this product poorly have no idea that is doing EXACTLY what it’s supposed to do, and Stanley makes NO CLAIMS to keeping water cool or warm.

Canteen- Not So Much!
This canteen does not keep the water cold or even chilled. It also has a lot of condensation if you put cold water in it.
