Great Durable Chain
I am a huge fan of the PC-800 series chains for riding single speed. It allows me to put the pedal to the medal with out breaking the chains. They take a lot of abuse.

Great Single Speed Chain!
Works great on my Surly Karate Monkey w/ENO SS freewheel. Hot wax (paraffin + bees wax mix) lubrication sticks great after cleaning with mineral spirits and denatured alcohol, and chain lasts ~800 miles before replacement indication via park chain checker.

Good Design
I like the design that keeps the rivets from getting worn by the shifters over the life of the chain. The master link was easy to use. The chain was lubed just right.

The Answer To A Few Of My Early 2000 Costco/kmart/target Bought Mtb Bike Chain Replacement Needs.
I'd like to start off by mentioning that I hardly take the time to review anything I buy, and as far as the sporting goods store Dick's to me, is just another store. When I decided to bring back my 26' S-30 Schwinn, my Mongooses D40r and Estes, and 24' Vertical, I wasn't aware how many bike chain sizes were available. I also wasn't aware the different chainrings, cassettes, gear changing ratios have such an intricate part on how smooth or not smooth changing gears can be. Lastly, how complicated it really can get when you start inerchachanging brands to these components, compatible is what they are definitely NOT! Long story short, I bought and returned a fair share of chains and you say why don't I take the bikes to a bike shop and save the hassle? Sure if I wasn't a hard headed individual that like's to figure out things through trial and error. All along gaining new found respect to bike specialists and masters of bikes, it's truly a craft. So, the Sram PC850 8 Speed chain somehow, someway fit flawlessly with all four MTB I had. It's been a couple years since purchasing a few of these chains at Dick's, though still running strong without any slippage, I'm thinking to purchase a few of them again. Just making sure Dick's still carries them and have them in stock, reason being I'm on this Dick's website in the first place. So I thank Dick's for carrying and selling such a quality product, and thank Sram for manufacturing such a well made bike chain. It's not advertised as being universal, but it fit all four of my MTB with components from Sram, Shimano, Sunrace, Torque Pro, and no name brands.
