Almost Great Pack
I really wanted to love this pack, but the side mesh pockets/rod tube holders started ripping during my first outing. Both sides have holes already. The mesh is clearly very weak and poor quality. The rest of the bag is very well built, but, sadly, I will be returning it.

Great Bag For Active Use
I upgraded to this bag from the Flyweight backpack and am so happy. I am a short, small-framed female and an active fly fisher in Montana so I needed something durable with storage and that would fit my small frame. This bag is bigger than what I was looking for and wanting, but it’s adjustable and fits very comfortably. Awesome storage for gear, fly boxes, and some extra room for a water bottle and an extra layer. Simms is my go-to for fly fishing gear and apparel and I’m very pleased with this pack. Highly recommend.

After 2 Weeks In Glacier And Yellowstone Parks
This is a great pack for hiking into the backcountry and fly fishing. Plenty of room for layers of clothes, water filter, pack stove, food, and gear for the day. Even a place for a hydration bladder. It can expand or sinch down small. The out web can support water bottles or rods. The net holder can also be used to hold bear spray. It is small enough to fit under the seat on a plane.

Favorite Backpack Ever
I absolutely love this pack. The large waterproof compartment is perfect for keeping my electronics safe, while the other pockets do a great job organizing all of the smaller essentials.
On longer trips, I can fit all of my camera gear in the waterproof compartment and use the lumbar pouch section to store my fly fishing gear—including my hip pack. That means I don’t have to wear both packs at the same time, which makes hiking and fishing much more comfortable.
I can’t say enough good things about this bag. It’s incredibly versatile, well thought out, and has become one of my favorite pieces of gear.

Almost Perfect But. . . . . . . . . .
CONS: Backpack pad should have had more holes or more breathable like most modern bags, super sweaty material, will prob cut the foam out and punch more holes in this. Side zip is great but the hard 90 angle is a pain to zip one handed when grabbing fly boxes out of the side, wish this zipped easier, gets hung up. Side net spot finally is great, old dry creek pack was a nightmare to land a fish while wearing the bag, this fixes that but also sucks when hiking in, net bangs against your arm the whole time, I had to fasten cord on the back of the pack to hike the net in. PROS: fixes a ton of quams of the other bags on the market, the dry creek one especially. . . . the new features and side panel is huge for actually fishing with this thing. The phone chest pocket is a nice feature, lets be real, most of us are lugging a phone out there and this keeps it high and dry and easily accessible. The waterproof dry pouch is extremely awesome, this whole bag would be a 10/10 but the foam back and straps really should have caught up with how other brands have easily fixed that, with just punching more holes in and using a more breathable mesh, this feels like 10 year old tech there. . . otherwise an almost perfect and fully functional bag!

Great Backpack!
This pack is very well organized and perfect for recreation travel and the trail for fly fishing. I used this as my primary carry on with rod and landing net attached with laptop in side pocket a clothing in the middle roll up section on way out to Montana. Then on the trail in Glacier NP hiking. It was perfect! This will be my “go to “ every trip. Love the look too!

Simms Upgrade
I received my new “Headwaters Backpack “
I needed a waterproof upgrade from my older Simms backpack.
So far I’m enjoying the room and adjustable features it comes with.
