More Covered Ground, Clean Entrance And Exits
This is fantastic as it gives a place to crouch or kneel getting in the tent, and helps keeps the dirt from getting in. I'd use the smaller ground cloth when backpacking as the additional weight can be felt, but for car camping it's perfect. It also gives a nice spot from my dog to sleep!

Glad We Had It For Mt Whitney Trip Last Month
I had the regular size tent footprint but this one has extra tarp area for both vestibules in the Telos 3ppl tent
So we could keep our gear dry without it being actually ‘inside’ the tent with us
