My Favorite Backpacking Pan

I like to travel light but I like to eat well when backpacking and this pan is my favorite for achieving both of these. I bought the 10" and it is super lightweight, easy to figure out how to nest it in my pack with other items, and it works perfectly. I'm always concerned that a frying pan like this won't disperse the heat on a backpacking stove and hence burn things in the middle and undercook them around the edges but no such problem here - this pan cooks perfect pancakes, quesadillas, and other food that needs a bigger pan. Nothing beats the smell of sautéed onions, peppers and sausage and this pan is big enough to cook enough to share for all those that brought more boring meal options.

Non Stick Coating Scratches Easily

Non stick coating scratches easily and the handle latch failed causing our food to fall out on the ground. Contacted sea to summit and received excellent customer service and a refund. Purchased a ceramic jet boil pan instead.

Great Handle. Sturdy And Nice

Great handle. Sturdy and nice quality. I got the small pan and now want the big pan also. I am protecting thr inside finish from rubbing from stacking pots- it would be great to have a fitting little wicking towel or bag for it.

Alpha Pan

Works great so far and it seems durable for the weight.

Nice Looking Pan, I Do

Nice looking pan, I do a lot of camping backpacking and RVing, this will work great for my needs glad it has a none stick surface, this would be a major plus in cooking outdoors, also glad that the handle falls down and I can add to my alpha Set 4.2 pots and pans to the collection.

Great Pan For Long Distance Bicycling

The Alpha Pan is wonderful! It is very durable, yet very light weight and the quality is excellent. I am a long-distance bicyclist and the size is perfect. Thanks again for a great product.

Great Addition To The 2.0 Set

I needed a frying pan to add to the rest of my Alpha pots. The pan is super light weight and very well built. I especially like that the cooking surface of the pan is flat and goes almost to the edge before it becomes the side wall. This allows for the maximum cooking surface for the size of the pan. The pan is not deep, but that allows for easier access to get the spatula under the food without pushing it all over the surface of the pan.

Mediocre Pan

It’s okay but I’ve seen better. Initially I was excited to get this pan as it packs down very well. However, when I used it at my campsite over my stove it bubbles up on the bottom because it is thin aluminum so it creates a hump in the middle when it’s hot no matter what food is in it and everything runs to the outside. It takes shape again after it’s cooled down but I was generally unimpressed at its performance. $54.95 is a lot to pay for a mediocre pan.
