Give Scarpa Boots A Look

This boot was referred to me by a close friend and veteran of the middle east conflicts. His endorsement as the best boot he has worn in both comfort and durability led me to order a pair. He was on the mark. Comfort out of the box, and after several months of off trail hiking they look great.

Scarpa Kailash Continues To Be A Winner.

I've been wearing the Scarpa Kailash boot for many years now, for both backpacking and day hikes. It is the most comfortable and rugged boot I've ever used, and requires virtually no breakin period.

Incredible Craftsmanship

Absolutely love my new Scarpa Kailash boots. I found the size was true to fit. The workmanship on these boots is incredible. No frayed stitches, no sloppy adhesives. They are very comfortable. I like the plush tongue, dynamic movement eyelits, locking lace clasps, etc. As another viewer pointed out however, Scarpa footbeds are generally rubbish. You’ve spent this much on boots (worth it), drop another fifty bucks on a nice pair of inserts.

Perfect Fit

Boots fit like slippers, but have great support all the way through. Super comfortable with no break in time. I use them every day for work and they are great.

Super Comfortable

Just hiked Guadalupe Peak in these boots and they performed great. They offer great support and traction. Very little break in time required for these boots. Love them!

Great Boots!

I purchased these boots for a wildlife biologist friend who works in South America (he will reimburse me). He says these are the best boots - they keep his feet dry and comfortable and he does not want any other boots, but it is difficult for him to get the boots shipped to him where he works. When planning a recent trip to visit my friend he asked me to please buy the boots for him (size 40 EU wide, or 7.5USA) and bring them when I visit. He was very happy to receive his new boots as his last pair of the same brand/style had traveled through great adventure and were on their last leg. I am answering the fit and recommendation questions on his behalf.

Comfort

I like the boot because it is very comfortable; warm when it needs to be; and dry when wet. I also like the wide number of available colors they come in.

Best. Fit. Ever.

I put these on and they felt like I'd worn them for months. There was no break-in time. And they are tough! This is my 2nd pair - I wore the 1st pair every day for 6 months doing rugged ranch work and they are still in fine form.

Overall Solid Boot

I have a few weeks walking around with them. Break in didn't take long. There comfortable, durable, and indeed waterproof. They have good support. They don't feel to heavy on your feet either.

Perfect Boot For Me

I've got about 50 miles on these boots so far and they're actually better than my other Scarpas. I've had zero hot spots or need for break-in with these boots. For my purposes they have the perfect blend of stiffness, for ankle support with a pack, and flexibility in the forefoot, which i find especially important for climbing steep trails. Quality of contruction is flawless, per normal with Scarpa.

Light But Tough

Great boot if you are looking for full leather durability with less weight than the Kinesis. These have replaced my previous favorite light higher (Quest 4D), same weight but may more durable and better sole. What's not to love? Euro sizing is junk. They run narrow so plan to order a full size or 1.5 US sized larger than your normal. Second, the insole is flat and worthless. Boot mfg's need to get their heads out of their starfish and provide a decent insole for the price.

The Most Sure-footed Boot I've Ever Owned

Third pair of Scarpa boots. They were more heavy duty than I originally wanted, and it's a bit of a chore lacing them up, but once on they don't feel heavy or hot, they fit amazingly, and they inspire confidence on the rocky, rutty trails of CT.

Very Good But Not Great

Only have a few miles in these. They’re comfortable out of box. Great feel and support. Light and not bulky. The toe box is narrow but the euro sizing makes up the difference. I not the 43.5 and typically wear a US 10 medium. The slightly longer length gave me the room I need. The sole provides great traction. Down side is the lining around the ankle and tung is cheap for a boot in this price range. Seems like it’ll wear out after the first season. Boots in this price range typically have a leather wrapped ankle and tung or at least the same lining as the rest of the inner boot. Didn’t have time to exchange before my trip otherwise I would’ve opted for another boot. I also think this boot will be too narrow for people with wider feet.

Scarpa Boots

Great boots, comfy right out of the box.. leather quality is unmatched .. just stiff enough for great support .. burly enough for rugged terrain but still light weight.

Nice Boot; Don't Suite My Needs

I ordered these and the Kailash Trek GTX. This is a great-fitting boot; one of a few Scarpa available in a wide, which allowed me to get back to my 45 accurate sizing. I don't think you can beat the Biometric outsole. The previous Kailash iterartion too narrow in 45 and too voluminous in a 45.5, so I'm rejoicing that the new wide Kailash offerings fit like they were made custom for me! I f you're a D/E/EE; these are an amazing fit in wide. Anyway, the trek version cinched much better out of the box, so I returned the Plus(h) and kept the Trek for everyday shoes. I was looking for something along the lines of the old Scarpa Zanskar in support, but the Plus just doesn't measure-up to the retired Zanskar, but they're Scarpa quality and fit if you don't need the security and brute force of a true backpacking boot. Going to try Scarpa's SL Activ for a Zanskar-level replacement.
