I have had various hiking boots in the past but because of the reviews I bought these. I wish I hadn’t. They are not comfortable, and don’t have the cushioned soles of other brands I have ended up with a bruised heel and am giving them up because I am going back to a more comfortable brand

I love these boots, most comfortable walking boots I’ve found, they are a good company to communicate with and have a good warranty however I’ve found you need it as they don’t last 2 years. Sadly also the sizing seems a bit hit and miss from year to year and I’ve varied ftom 4 to 4.5 to 5. This has not put me off as I really do find them great for hiking.

I've had the previous iteration of this style and once they wore out after heavy use, got the new generation. Been wearing them for a year. I've had no breaking in period with these, they are comfortable and supportive on the first use. Used them on several day-long hikes and I have no soreness or blistering afterwards and they last well. I have also worn these on planes and transport while traveling to save luggage space and they are comfortable and not restrictive in non-hiking activities.

These shoes fit great and seem very durable. I have taken them hiking in all 5 National Parks in Utah, and they have held up fantastically. I was a bit worried because I have slightly wide feet but not enough to size up to a wide. These are great shoes and I highly recommend.

I bought these boots in April 2026 ahead of our planned 3 week roadtrip with hiking in New Zealand North and South islands in August 2026. I had for 30 years used Scarpa boots but these boots were too heavy to take. I was extremely happy my new Salomon boots on the two occasions I used them in the UK in the summer. Very sturdy and comfortable so had no concerns. Unfortunately in New Zealand our weather was, on some long hikes, raining and occasionally snowing. Hikes were 6/8 hours but on each occasion of the weather being wet, very quickly my feet were wet. I did not want to believe that the boots were not waterproof. I liked the boots but eventually I had to accept that they were simply not up to the job. I was not walking through streams. Water was not coming in over the top. It was seeping through the lace area and top of the boot. The boots are new with no damage. Rain, snow and slush are hardly unusual and quality goretex hiking boots a few months old should be able to cope with this. Overall therefore I am not at all happy. I am just back in the last few days and thought it was important to feed this back.

Had a year. Everytime I wore them in wet/ damp conditions I couldn't decide if my feet were sweating or the boots weren't waterproof. However today out in the rain my feet were absolutely drenched! I have had these for a year and they are no longer waterproof and my feet are drenched just walking through the cut (not even tall) grass. I’ve also had the opposite shoe lace get caught up on the other shoe while walking and trip me up a few times. Pretty disappointed in the quality of these.
Disappointed Hiker
I’ve used these boots for about a year and I’m really disappointed. They’re uncomfortable on longer walks, not breathable, and are already losing their waterproofing. The build quality is also poor, with the rubber and stitching already starting to break. They simply aren’t durable enough for hiking/trekking as advertised. For the price, I expected much better. This was my first pair of Salomon boots, and unfortunately, I’m not happy with them. I regret buying them and wouldn’t recommend them.
Not as good as I expected
They’re comfortable, but unfortunately not very durable. After about a year of use, the rubber is already starting to break down, and the stitching is coming apart as well. The waterproofing has also deteriorated significantly. I also never really got used to the speed-lacing system. This was my first pair of boots from this brand, and I really wanted to like them. I bought them when they first came out, so I guess I should have waited and seen what the reviews had to say.

I love everything about this boots! As someone who lives constantly strengthening my ankles and hips, these were perfect stable and kept me together my entire time hiking uneven ground through the mighty 5! Substantial grip, significant comfort for all day wear.
