I broke the number 1 running rule and tried new shoes on race day (my Saucony trail shoes broke 5 days before so I didn't really have a choice). Please Update The Heel Cup

I loved this shoe when I first bought it - great cushioning for long runs, perfect grip and arch support. However the heel cup is too deep, so my ankle bone would rub on the side of the shoe causing a lot of pain. I tried to push through it, hoping I would get used to it, but ultimately I had to return them. Researching online, I've seen other people have this issue with the ultra glide. Please update the heel cup and the shoe will be perfect!

Comfortable Trail Shoes

I've worn these a few times on my regular redwood trail loop (5 miles, ~1k elevation gain, uneven terrain) and they're very comfortable. They're a bit more off the ground than I'm used to but they've been mostly fine--though not sure I'd recommend to someone with ankle instabilities. The cushion has been good for the steep declines since I have some hip issues. Overall solid shoe, but I might go back to more technical ones once these are done. Also, for any aesthetic people out there, I have the pink ones (shadow gray / tapioca) and they are absolutely filthy from the trails. I don't mind it but just an FYI for those who might.
