I've used and abused them and haven't had complaints yet. Also, amazing ankle support. Had them for little over 2 years. I went up half a size for room for socks

I have been buying Salomon boots/shoes for almost 20 years now. I started buying the Quest 4 about 5 years ago. My first two pairs were great until the waterproofing wore off before two years. Salomon was great and replaced both. These boots will last about two to three years if you use them everyday like I do. Being a wildlife conservation photographer has me in places that only these boots will get me through. I’m grateful for the roomy toe box even though they don’t come in wide. I have been through 3 pairs. The soles started to separate and waterproofing broke down. All and all, they are still my go to boots 👍

I've hiked in the Grand Canyon for 25 years, and I wouldn't walk across a campsite (just about) without a pair of above-ankle SALOMONS! I have on numerous occasions put a new pair on out of the box and gone off down a trail with 40+ lbs on my back. For serious foot support and overall comfort, in an environment that EATS boots, Salomon is the boot. A couple dings: innersole is flimsy: I always replace it with Powerstep or similar. Also, this one's been discontinued.

My last pair were starting to look shabby, so repurchased. Absolutely love these boots. Treat them right and they last! Ive been all over from long walks to hikes and they are comfortable, no blistering and stable on my ankles. With the right waterproofing my feet stay dry even in long wet grass.

As a scout leader these boots get beaten up on trips. They are very comfortable and hold up to everything.would highly recommend.

I have had a pair of these boots for a year. They are by far the best hiking boots I have ever worn. I pronate badly and these help to prevent that. I have hiked in mud, rocks, snow and on slippery rocks. These boots help to prevent falls, keep my feet dry and were so great that I bought a 2nd pair to have! The 1st pair has been on at least 25 hikes and are still very comfortable with good support.

These are the most comfortable hiking I've found, and the only ones that fit my little feet. The toe box room and shape are perfect. The only flaw is the upper forms a funnel for debris, but this does not happen when wearing long pants.

Great fit, stabilizes my foot and ankle especially on steep rocky hikes. keeps my feet dry on wet hikes. Sturdy! Have had them over a year and still great

I usually don't comment on shoes because I change them out quite a lot, as I backcountry hike crazy...but this one has been a keeper!! When I first purchased this shoe, I saw a lot of bad comments on how they cheapened out the material and has waterproofing issues. Now, me and my bad bois on at least 5 trips of river crossings, mud pool crossings, etc later, still as good as the first time wearing it!!! The only thing I noticed was the beautiful green colour fading out, which was presumably caused by the mud, but other than that, no damage even stepping on very sharp objects (not reco), LOVE IT!!

I’ve been a loyal fan of the Quest 4D boots for over 12 years. They hold up well even hiking Rocky Mountain trails every day. The only thing I would improve is the tongue design. It would be great if they made it so it didn’t stick out but rather cupped inside the ankle corners nicely. I know the new tongue design is supposed to be that way and it doesn’t change my love for the boot! Best boots ever!

The pair weighs 1kg 10gms combined.. and I'm 50kgs.. I so wanted to love these shoes.. there's a lot going for it - great ankle support, generous toe box.. but I tried walking up 15 flights in these indoors to see if they measure up and by the half way mark, my legs were fatigued. So, returning them for something lighter. If Salomon guys made these in the material and construction of the Ultra 5X -- I'd be so so happy! Please guys... just think about small women who hike.

The boots are super comfortable, like wearing a pair of tennis shoes. Lightweight. Perfect for hiking.

Water proof working good, really supportive structure for boots, saving me from several easily get hurt situation when hiking. Good looking as well, very adjustive and strong enough for different levels of trails, highly recommend for who goes to moderate and above trails! I would like to have one for coming generation!

I bought this a month ago and have worn it once on a camping trip after heavy rainfall. I'm happy with the goretex because my feet stayed dry the entire trip and the ankle support is really strong. One thing I'm kind of iffy about is I'm not sure if the shoe still needs to be broken in? When I'm walking and I am bending the ball of my foot during the walk, the crease in the front of the shoe will pinch my toes. I'm not sure if this is a sizing problem because I have picked the right size allowing for any swelling, or if it's because the shoe still needs to be broken in. I would suggest walking around in the shoe for a while when trying it on to see if you encounter this problem.

I've been buying these shoes for years and have tried different other brands, they just don't fit like the Quest 4D. The leather breaks open too fast where the plastic front meets the leather. This pair started coming apart after only 9 months of normal use, not mountain bavk packing. I wear them winter and summer, in Alaska. They are a little hot for summer and not warm enough some of winter up here.
