I detail airplanes on the side and needed a good waterproof work shoe to withstand the wet environment. these worked extremely well and the ortholite insole provided me comfort all throughout the day. keep in mind, these are not anti-slip shoes, so i had to be extremely careful when walking on the wet hanger floor. only because the hanger floors are very smooth surfaces. bust i suppose if wearing these out in the canyons or trails and you were to walk across wet rock, the outsole would grip to wet rock better than a wet airplane hanger floor.

I bought my first pair for a Hike trip and they were so comfortable I bought the same pair in all black for work. There’s always light random showers in Miami and the Goretex comes in clutch!

Solid Performer, Wish There Was A Non Gtx Option.

Ive used Salomon trailrunners (mostly XA pro 3d) for the last ten years. Mostly off track walking in SW Tas , Vic and NZ, for trips up to 14 days. I prefer non Goretex for its breathability and quick drying ability. I do use goretex versions in certain situations but find them hotter and they make my feet swell more. I usually get 12 months use before the soles abrade away and the uppers wear holes at the toe crease. This is my first pair of Salomon "hiking boots", and they performed well on a recent 14 day Croajingolong trip. They are light weight with a strong and stiff sole plate. Felt similar to the XA Pro 3D shoes. The lugs are chunky and shard edged which give good grip. I prefer a low cut shoe, but this mid height shoe didn't restrict ankle movement too much. Too soon to tell how durable they will be, and cannot comment of how fast they dry after water immersion. Overall a pleasing result.

Definitely durable. I wore the tread off these boots. Eventually, the Gore-Tex broke down, but it was expected with as much use as they had.
