Comfortable, Stylish But Not Water Proof.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, these are some great looking shoes and they are very comfortable. They are probably one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I’ve owned five different pair of Salomon brand shoes, and these are definitely at the top for comfort. Unfortunately, they are definitely not waterproof, which is a real bummer. These are the only shoes I brought on a recent photography trip because I was confident they would keep my feet dry while walking through a woodland area during rain. I did not submerge the shoes. I simply walked through some squishy mud on a rainy day. Within a couple of minutes, I could feel my socks getting wet, which led to a rather uncomfortable several hours to follow while I was on location. I spent the next day with a hairdryer, trying to get them ready for my next outing since I had no other shoes. I’m not sure I would buy these again based on that. I don’t get into wet conditions frequently but when I do, I need to confidence that I won’t be walking around in wet socks for the afternoon. I thought these were supposed to be waterproof based on the description. So I don’t know what happened. I found them since September 2021 and they still look good with no rips or tears.

Excellent Versatile Hiking Shoe

Very comfortable and versatile hiking shoe. Used it for hiking 14ers in Colorado, Mt Kilimanjaro and Grand Canyon rim to rim. Excelled in all kinds of terrain and technical hikes. Comfortable enough that they can be worn for casual winter wear.

Excellent Boot

Love that this came in a wide width! Comfortable and great looking.

Comfortable But Not Durable

Bought these and right out of the box they were comfortable, no break in period. Went out the following week with friends and did a light hike in the mountains. After 1 hike, the sole was breaking along the tang where the heel meets the arch. Would not use these on any hard rock hikes. Maybe good for the pedestrian paved trails or soft dirt. Kept these for decent pair of winter boots over the past two years with occasional hikes.

Great Hiking Boots For Me

Initially I was irritated that the size 13 wide was not available when looking to upgrade from my Merrell boots, but after trying some Keen (too squishy), La Sportiva (too narrow), and Lowa (too heavy) boots, I finally found these in stock and picked them up in the spring of 2022. They were comfortable out of the box, break in was super easy, and now I have worn them for miles of spring practice hikes in the Appalachians, summer vacation to Rocky Mountain NP, casual weekend adventures, and more, and I could not be more happy with them. I am over 250 lbs. and pretty heavy on my feet, and these offer plenty of padding and plenty of support for easy hiking and quick downhills on the rocky trails. I have been having difficulty finding comfortable shoes since I started having to buy wide size, and Brooks Ghost running shoes and these boots are all I wear now. I pair them with Weatherproof wool blend socks when its cold, and ordinary Hanes X-Temp athletic socks when hot or normal, and my feet are comfortable and not too hot to cold or sweaty. Never a blister or anything. Offers great traction in everything I have walked through, from dry sandy Colorado trails, snow banks, muddy trails on the AT in Virginia, and everything else. The included laces are even pretty good. I'm a 5 star man, and I give these boots 5 stars too.

Great Boots

The best boots I've ever had, I had bought Nike pegasus trail but I think they are not for me, Salomon gives me more stability and better comfort for my feet, I highly recommend them.

Great Shoe

Bought the boots almost 2 years ago. Recently got wet and noticed they leak water into my shoe; no obvious entry point. Any remedy? Bought a second pair a year ago because The boot has been that good.

Comfort/performance

Great shoe for backpacking and wearing on the daily, I originally started wearing it to break them in but not only were they instantly comfortable but I enjoyed the look a lot too so I just started wearing them all the time

Slips Too Much On Wet Surface

Bought it after checking a lot of reviews. While hiking, need to worry a lot about slippery surfaces, its does not hold on stone, and waterproofing is not good either. the shoe is definitely light and comfortable, but for hiking the grip is most important for me.

Solomon’s Boots

Pleased with the overall look and construction of these. Only minor thing is takes some time to break in on the top and bunion area of my feet.

The Only Day-boot ... To Own!

IMO ... THIS is the ONLY day-boot to own. I have been wearing Salomons (exclusively) for years and THIS boot is AS GOOD AS IT GETS! It would be a HUGE shame IF ... they ever discontinue ... the model.

Not A Happy Customer

I experienced poor performance of this shoe. Sole and uppers not supportive enough. Too flexible and soft. Can't walk on rocky areas due to lack of sole stiffness. Uppers collapse while I try to slide my foot in. Feet feel tired compared to my previous Salomon models. I consider myself an ex-customer. Fit is good.

Most Comfortable Boots I Have Owned

Boots are comfortable and long lasting. My feet are EEE and the boots provide enough width that I feel no crowding on my feet. They provide good foot and ankle support, as well as adequate traction when hiking/hunting. I bought my first pair in early 2019 and wear the boots almost daily. Treadwear is highly acceptable given the fact that wear the boots daily. The old boots are being retired into a work boot roll and the new boots will become the new daily wear boots. I highly recommend these boots!

Very Comfortable

This is a great boot, and themost comfortable i have had in years. I don't need arch supports or anything - it's great as is. This is a continuation of my purchases of this boot. I love it so much that this is the only boot i wear. i bought 3-4 in prior years, but with COVID, these were out of stock for a year and it was difficult to find a comparable replacement. I'm glad they are back.

Amazing Boots, Except For The Soles!!

I love this model of boot so much that I am on my fourth pair! Same model, color, size, etc.. I wear them everyday for everything; work, leisure, hiking. I traipse through 3-4 inches of water and my feet stay dry. They give me great arch support. Having said all that though, I shouldn't have to be getting a new pair every 8-12 months. The soles ALWAYS start to separate from the upper and when that happens the waterproof integrity is lost. When this happens I have relegated the last three pairs to being my "work boots" and continue to use them until the soles eventually peel completely off and then I throw them away. Salomon, you need to re-examine how the soles are attached to the uppers and make some changes! I love this model and hope you never discontinue it to the point where I am going to buy another pair to keep in reserve for when my current ones have the inevitable "blowout".
