Dig The Improved Features In This Latest Version

Fifth pair over the years. This version has improved middle lace holder/ pull strap which works well to keep laces pushing against a reinforced tongue. More rubber around the heel. Tongue is shaped more on a curve which adds to the comfort allowing the top laces to feel more even around the ankle vs older models. Hope they are more durable than the last few pairs. They wear out faster than a leather boot, but you can win a foot race around the block with the feather weight yet super supportive. I wear these to work in a construction trailer all day every day , walk an urban mile or two daily at lunch and hike in them on weekends in woods/ rocky trails. Great in the snow and slop.

Good Boots Poor Laces

These are my second pair. Comfortable from day 1. I do wish the laces would not come undone so often. This seems to happen with all my Salomon shoes and boots do I just replace them.

Nice Solid Hiker

Boot is comfortable, lightweight but yet has great stability while hiking . Found the sole gets slippery on hard surfaces, IE: rocks and logs After the 3rd time wearing them on a wet field day feet were wet boots leak. So I washed the and treated with nikwax which helped for a few days bit they leak and leak constantly in wet grass. So now I only wear them on dry days which is a shame for a hi end (gortex) boot. I've had them for aprox 1 year now and still wear them just not on rainy wet day hikes. This is why the 3 stars .I'll probably go back to redwing

Very Comfortable

I bought these last month knowing I had a relatively long walk coming up (Ben Cruachan and Stob Daimh).I had intended to break them in beforehand but events meant I wasn’t able to. Debated not wearing them but decided to go for it and glad I did. Immediately very good fit and very comfortable. No issues. Delighted with this purchase and expect to continue to be.

Disappointed

I have had three pairs of these boots. I bought the new and improved Quest 4 GTX with the upgraded, advanced chassis about two weeks ago. I spent about a week trying to break them in, which is all I ever give any of my hiking boots. I felt that they were as broken in as I was going to get them. I took them on a short four mile hike. This new version is the hardest, least cushioned, lowest shock absorption boot I have ever worn. Extremely uncomfortable. My lower back is still in pain. I don't understand why they would ruin a great boot by making it so hard. I am returning them. Going with a different brand.
