Stylish But Not Ideal
I tried both the 2022 and 2023 models. The main difference was the laces. As others have said in their reviews, the 2022 model simply would not stay tied. I was surprised to see the 2023 model had nearly identical looking laces that held without issue - nice modification Salomon!
The shoe is narrow and, while still quite comfortable, it didn’t feel stable enough to rely on for moderate hiking. The other downside is the tread. The grippy outsole is overlayed on top of a bouncy and responsive foam layer and does not make complete contact where grooves exist in the foam, thus creating a small well between the two layers. This may be by design to allow water to flow freely when creeking, but it seems that dirt and debris could easily be caught in these many areas, leading to a difficult cleaning process. Ultimately, I returned both pairs due to these concerns. If they were a bit wider for stability and the outsoles made consistent contact with the foam, they would be the best GTX mids out there. I hope the 2024 edition addresses these issues.

Returned
To start: I’m a big Salomon fan. I’ve got several pairs of their boots and hiking shoes. I was very excited when I saw these, so I purchased them immediately. I was looking for a cross between a hiking boot, and a trail runner. Unfortunately, the toe box on these is very small/tight. I wore them around the house for a day, and my feet had never hurt so bad. The size was correct, they just run narrow (and I don’t have wide feet). I also found the lacing system to be uncomfortable. The top laces run low, which put unneeded stress on my ankle (they tightened right along the ball of my ankle). They may be for some people, but they weren’t for me. Just uncomfortable and poorly fitting
