IMHO, the Sage Foundation series are some of the best fly rods around. The componentry is solid Chevy Truck, the performance is new car smooth. They are fast action rods with lots of reserve power and are a joy to cast. They dampen well and are very accurate, with a smooth, connected feel. I have a Sky G, a Loomis NRX+, and a Sage Igniter, and Foundations in 4,5,7, & 8wt. The Foundations feel and perform as well as the expensive rods, and are all personal casting & fishing favorites. They cast close and as far as I can double haul with ease. I can pick up and lay down line with the, just as well as the high dollar rods. If all I could fish with were a set of Foundation rods I would be happy. Highly recommended.
