The Ranger Creed

I’ve waited 6 years to write this review . I fully understand the urge people have to write a review right after purchasing them but I waited . First I work as police officer for a Reigonal Special Tactics team soa lot of the time I’m in plain clothes . I wear these boots quite frequently several days a week below is what I’ve found . The break in period is not as bad as some make it out to be . Wear them and follow the maintenance recommendations and they will break in just fine . Durability. The durability on the iron ranger boot is very pleasing . I live in Chicago , brutally hot summers and cold winters . My iron rangers have stood up to everything Chicago streets can throw at them . They still look remarkably good despite their age and mileage . Comfort . The comfort on iron rangers is second to none . 4 years ago I was diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer . As a result I had a pretty intensive chemotherapy regimen . 5 days a week , 6-8 hours a day . They would then give me a week off and I’d repeat that cycle . All told I did 3oo hours of chemo and with the exception of an 18 day hospitalization they were on my feet for every session . Most patients wore slip ons but even those felt like cinder blocks to me . My iron rangers did not and I have no idea why but I am forever grateful that the boots made some of the hardest days of my life a little easier to get through . Value . The Iron Rangers offer a great value . I’ve had them 6 years and they have stood up to everything thrown their way I am pleased with my purchase . Mine ? Have been everywhere with me trips to Ireland , camping in Wisconsin , on the streets of Chicago . They’ve seen the birth of my children , the acquisition of a wonderful family pet , the inside of a chemo suite and so much more . Finally my father took care of me when I was sick . He is retired US Army . As a thank you I bought him his own pair .

Boots For Life

I seriously expect to wear these boots for the next thirty years.

They Were Great At First

I bought this item a little more than a year ago and for the amount of money I spent on it I expected it to last more than a year. When I initially got them, I loved them. They were comfortable. I thought they looked very nice, but they definitely did not hold up to the industry I work in. I am a professional exterminator and these boots shortly after receiving and using them daily for work, started allowing water to get through the leather, causing me to constantly have soaking wet, cold feet. They started falling apart, right where the toe of the boot meets the rest of the boot and actually cracked and large holes developed. These boots are not the test of time or apparently the pest control industry..

Nice Looking Boot

Heritage 8085 Pros: -Excellent construction, premium leather, and laces -Great looking boot Cons: -No insulation or midsole, and loud hard outsole -Not waterproof, leather does not breathe, after 2-3 years the leather picks up too many scratches -Break in period was a challenge -Expensive A great boot, though over time could not find any functional use for them

For Life And Lifestyle. Redwing Boots

I own four pairs of Iron Rangers. I rotate them out. In different finishes. My favorite is roughneck and amber harness, but I also have charcoal and suede. I love the moc toe and the steel shank. Substantial boots. Not work boots. I also own a pair of Redwing Hawthorns and British Chelseas. I have a problem.
