Very Low Quality

For what you would think would be a simple design, these hooks are poorly engineered and very cheaply made. First, the screws that came with it are garbage! If you're screwing into anything other than super soft wood, forget it! I was attaching to 6x6 support posts. The first screw twisted right off before it was even to the screw head. The second screw stripped out the Philips head before it even bottomed out. When I tried to back that screw out using vice-grips, the head twisted off. I then repositioned my brackets and drilled full depth pilot holes. The first screw again twisted right off before it was even all the way in. Junk! I threw them away and used high quality decking screws with no problem. I had to cut off the broken screws that were left sticking out. Cost me a good hour of screwing around. Next, it has a screw that attaches the upper bracket pipe to the lower pipe. The screw head sticks up and digs right into the bottom of our kayaks! Inexcusable poor design. The screw should have been oriented 90 degrees so it would not contact the kayak. Once the brackets are mounted, you could remove that screw, but the tiny spots of weld they have holding the pipes to the wall plate are so small, I don't trust they will hold up. I drilled my own hole at the 90 degree orientation and put a bolt and nut in for safety. Simple issues that never should have made it to the final product design. Very, very cheap, low quality materials all around. They cost $40 and weren't worth $20.00. We have them in a dry, protected area. Hopefully they will stand up to use. If they were out in the elements, I wouldn't expect them to last long.

It's Two Big Hooks

They are two big ole' hooks that you drill into the wall. It does exactly what it's supposed to.

Does The Job

we were able to install easily. Wouk have liked some direction on how far apart they should be mounted. We just held hooks against kayak and measuring that seemed to work

Easy Up Nice Padding

This rack was very easy to assemble and mount. Holds our kayak easily. Great product

Just As Described
