Broken Rod

Don't know if it's Dicks fault, we bought this and it was shipped, ir was for was for my 12 year old grandsons birthday, when we opened it, the rod tip was broken. We're going to return it to the store, don't want a refund, would like a replacement.

I got the same problem!!because it’s say 2 pieces combo but when it is arrived it was 1pic combo so keep that in mind ,if it’s not a problem to going out with or carrying into ur car Then u don’t have to worry about it.

Great Bang For Your Buck

Great Quality For Price!

I bought this with my husband and he is excited about the quality and states it works even better than his other brand name rod/reel that recently broke. He said he can't believe the difference because of the price and wants to purchase an additional one for our son to use!

Poor Quality Reel

I bought this rod two weeks ago (May 9th, 2026). On my second outing with this rod, I hooked a decent sized bass (4-5) pounder and while I was reeling it in to the bank the reel just quit working. I tried adjusting the drag and all that I knew to do and still nothing. I was able to pull the fish in by hand but the reel will not work now. My best guess is the bearing slipped or broke. Luckily Dick’s allowed me to return the rod and reel. I ended up buying the spinner version of the same rod. Hopefully I will have better luck with it.

Not Bad For The Cost

So far not bad. Colors are decent quality and look nice. Definitely true medium heavy rod. The reel is a good fast speed. Only cons are the brake adjustment with no numbers to gauge where you’re at and setting the drag with no audible clicks. Overall not bad. Probably stick to my Lews, Shimano, and Kast King.

This thing is garbage it literally fell apart in my hands flipping a jig in my yard beofre I even fished with it dicks was nice enough to do a full refund tho !

Good Overall Rod/reel Combo

So far it has been good and only a few tangles with the reel line. May be more trying to get the correct drag/adjustment to reel.
