I prefer auto-locking munter shape carabiners like this for anchors. I’ve had screw locks roll open on anchor setups in the past. I dont climb in ice and snow so don’t know how the push button would fair in that environment, but it works great for rock. I bought a second for my wife after she got jealous of my new hardware.

I bought this a few months ago and have used it several times, the safety feature is great, and the quality is amazing. About to go on a climbing trip and expect to use this a lot.

Yeah they're bigger and weigh more than some but for certain applications, like a master point where more than one climber will be clove hitching in, they're great. Also work well for ice climbing where small biners can get cumbersome with gloves on.

Unlike other carabiners that didn’t save my life... this Petzl William Ball-lock definitely did! Just wish it came in Lakers colors. Or Rasta.

This is a great piece of gear. I purchased this to use as a master-point at the anchor. It makes the process of clipping in smooth, and the added safety of the ball-lock offers peace of mind. As mentioned in other reviews, this carabiner excels in a belay capacity.
