I bought this for all types of climbing and used it twice on ice climbing days. I didn’t even turn the headlamp on and checked it before heading out the next day, and the headlamp was at 1 bar. Recharged and climbed the next day and used the headlamp for an hour long approach. The battery had 1 bar left. I’m definitely disappointed because the headlamp is so bright and light but I definitely don’t trust this for winter outings. Just for comparison, my partners BD rechargeable headlamp hasn’t lost any charge in the two outings we have had.

Used to have the Reactik+. This one Swift RL lacks red-light, which was nice to have. Not sure the additional lumens, available only with reactive feedback, a feature of which I'm ambivalent, makes it better. Battery life seems less, too, but that's without good evidence.

Can't say enough good stuff about this headlamp! Going to buy one for my husband for Christmas. But don't tell him! He can't keep his hands off mine.

This headlamp is incredible. It fits wonderfully, has lots of different use modes, and on its brightest setting is a spotlight that can light up the side of a mountain. It has made skiing through the woods so much better.

Ok this was for my son and was the second attempt at getting it right! He loves it. Very bright and lasts a long time. And no ridiculous wires like the first headlamp.

Returned from a first use in the Olympic National Park. Great headlamp replacing an older model and style. Simple, light and excellent brightness levels.

Everything works as advertised. I can’t imagine needing a headlamp to do more. The automatically adjusting brightness is a cool feature and it gets plenty bright.

Very bright, easy to use, light weight, comfortable, easy recharge, no complaints! Just used it caving and it was the best I have ever used for this. I only wish I splurged for the red light model.

This light is a super bright and the battery life seems pretty good. The straps are make for a comfortable fit. The battery is easy to recharge.

I’ve always trusted Petzl quality, and this is no different. Great powerful headlamp and it’s pretty cool how it’s reactive to save battery life. My favorite part is the head strap. It cradles the back of the head to stay in place without having it be extra tight, thus more comfortable. I like that it has interchangeable batteries, but dislike the extra battery costs more than most high quality headlamps. I was considering getting the Petzl IKO core because you can use the core battery or 3 aaa batterys. I didn’t because I thought the design could potentially be uncomfortable.

I have used this for about a month skiing. It’s pretty simple and performs as it is intended. No issues so far. I haven’t used it running yet, but the strap design makes it feel pretty snug.

I was skeptical at first but after trying this headlamp, this is seriously the best headlamp I have ever owned or tried (and I’ve owned several). Comparing it to the older headlamps I own, you can barely notice that they even work when compared to the light given off this headlamp. It is so bright, even at the lowest setting. The rechargeable battery is super convenient and lasts a surprisingly long time between charges. The band is very comfortable. Between everyone in my household, we now own 4 of these headlamps because they just really are that much better than any older/cheaper headlamp we’ve ever had.

Used the headlamp for long walks in the dark and like that the battery lasts for a long time. I have this headlamp as a backup for all hikes and mountaineering trips just in case. I miss some features that my Petzl Actik Core has such as the red light and lower weight, the forward tilt also feels slightly different from my Actik Core.

While everyone would want a lightweight lamp that would last all night long on max power without the need for additional batteries, the Swift RL is nice to have in the ultrarunner's tool box. The RL is great, fit is good and use is very simple. Will be using it at an ultra this weekend.

I bought myself such a flashlight. High quality, comfortable, bright. I would like to replace the soft and tight fit on the head, while jogging, the flashlight does not jump and the weight is not felt. The brightness is good, I have enough when running in the forest at night. The battery lasts a long time, you can buy a spare battery for long-term events. The charge indicator is very useful, there is no need to count the number of blinks. Of the minuses, I did not like the fact that when it is blocked, the flashlight does not turn off, I see no reason to keep the switched on blocked flashlight on my head. The Active light function works nicely. The main beam turns on only in the 3rd power mode
