Got these as "just in case" crampons to use with my trail runners. They're so light you don't even notice them in your pack, so there's no reason to leave them behind.

Bought these for the whites (Washington NH) winter hike. They go on easy and are rock solid. Pack smaller and lighter than nearly anything on the market as well. Not to be used for vertical ice and possibly a little fragile above tree line If walking on granite where the job is more suited for micro spikes. Not a negative for these at all as that’s their intention, just to help someone in the market. I use them on a boot with a relatively flexible sole and these still performed well.

These are excellently lightweight, and pretty compact. The cord connecting front and back parts is a good innovation, I think. Maybe would be vulnerable if you walk on rocks a lot...but a metal bar is, too, and this might even be easier to replace or repair, if necessary. There is a some adjustability in the fit, but I was unable to get a really rock solid fit. Good enough for low angle snow, anyway, and these are not intended for front pointing on ice, of course. I don't care much for the plastic harness components. They make the crampons a lot bulkier for packing than they otherwise would be, and don't conform very well to the shape of my boot. And I sort of have the feeling that they will wear out and break or tear eventually...although have not seen any evidence of that. Maybe Petzl has figured out that there are good reasons to do it this way, but I believe I would rather just have rings and criss cross straps, like my ancient Salewa aluminum crampons. Happy to have these, those, as they are way easier to carry than my steel ice-climbing crampons.

I bought these to use on Rainier with a lighter shoe (Salomon Alpine) so I could do it quicker. They felt very solid and never moved which sorta surprised me.. Definitely recommend these. I've also used them on my ski boots. Versatile product for the win!

Paired with irvis fronts, these have worked well with several flexible-soled boots and approach shoes. I have concerns about durability of aluminum fronts, but all components are modular and replaceable

These are great. I used them along with a friend who bought the same pair to cross a couple snow fields on an approach to an alpine rock route in Grand Teton and they are really light, which is great when you have to haul a rope and 25 pounds of trad gear. I would say they weigh about a third of what my old SabreTooth crampons weigh. They performed well too and I felt safe travelling on the steep snow couloir. I would certainly recommend following the tie-off instruction card (carry it with you) though. The strap is extra long and there are a couple ways you can tie them to secure them to your boots or in our case, approach shoes. That is a huge bonus as well, they will fit almost any footwear so no need to haul mountaineering boots, even if light ones, if the conditions do not call for it. We wore these on LaSportiva TX3's and traveled fast. They are a bit pricey for such a simple design, which is my only issue with them. But if you are counting ounces, these are essential in your backcountry alpine ascent adventures.

So far these have been really great crampons. Once you figure out the system it is quite easy and relatively quick on and off. Compact enough to always have in your backpack if there's a chance you need them.

I have taken and used these multiple times last summer in the sierra for the big snow year up and down some pretty hairy off trail passes and cols , they worked flawlessly, I did use the alternate strap method modified even more they worked great on my trail runners! No problems with any fraying. Super light weight and easy to carry in small packs. No reason not to take these!

I bought this specifically for a trip to the Bugaboos, which is a summer alpine rock destination, but has glacial approaches and one 40degree snow field to Bugaboo-Snowpatch Col. On some of the routes you have to carry snow gear around the entire day but use it only for 30-40 min in relatively easy terrain. Here weight savings were the primary criteria. These crampons are amazing for the weight (300g!)! They fit well on my Scarpa Charmoz boots, were easy to take on and off and had no stability issues. I did not notice any fraying, obviously I avoided walking on rock. The other great thing is they pack up really small. When you are carrying a 25L pack stuffed with layers and climbing gear, it is great that crampons can be stashed inside. The case they come in is really nice too.

I used this crampon one time on a five mile round trip on snow and ice, up a few thousand feet. It performed very well. It fits and performs perfectly, remaining very tight to the boot. The fastening is straight forward. It is light and compact. I assumed that the nylon cord would not be a problem even though one might think it COULD be a problem. After this one use, it is at least 50% frayed in one area and somewhat less in a few other areas....places where my boot tread would have contacted a portion of the cord that wraps around the metal. In my view, they are not usable because failure is not really acceptable if on a snow or ice slope. I've read a positive review or two.....including usage by mountaineers. But I cannot, for the life of me, understand how this design passed any simple usage test. I'm not extreme.....just a hike up a snowy trail and onto a slope. Maybe I jumped on the occasional log along the trail....maybe the occasional rock. I will seek to return them.
