Exactly What We Needed

My grandsons both under 10 wanted surf fishing rods. These rods were perfect for them. Casted well, handled the surf, the boys were able to reel themselves and fish were caught every trip.

Not Meant For Big Fish

I have had 2 of these snap on me in the last 3 months after getting less than a season out of them. Hooked a few big fish and the tips snapped right off. The reels are great, it's the rods that are the problem.

Great Rod For The Price!

This is a solid, budget-friendly saltwater combo with real performance for inshore and nearshore fishing- especially for lighter species and everyday use. It won’t feel like a pro tournament rig, but for most boat anglers who fish casually (even if the fish seem to mock you from the depths), it’s a very respectable setup. Perfect for the Long Island Sound.

Subpar Performance Compared To Competitors

If you’re looking for a reliable pole for inshore fishing, look elsewhere! The tip of my rod broke after one month of use. It was probably my fault since I was trying to recover a lie that got snagged in an oyster bed. I bought an Ugly stick to replace the rod and am still using the reel. I hate the reel. The bail does not automatically close. So, I have to manually guide my braided line into the roller and close the bail. This setup is subpar compared to its competition.
