This backpack is so comfortable to wear for long distance through hikes. Plus it has lots of handy pockets, straps etc. I’ve carried it for Te Araroa (3000km) and the South West Coast Path (1000km). I would definitely recommend this bag

I bought this backpack (48L version) to take hut-to-hut hiking in France two years ago, and it was so comfy that I didn't get any sore spots or rubs. Although, the size was a bit overkill, oops! Since then I have taken it on numerous long-distance hikes, including the John Muir Trail in America, where it carried enough food (including a bear canister) for seven days and my sleeping equipment. It was much heavier than previous uses, but I still had no issues! Therefore, I would thoroughly recommend this bag! Every time I put this backpack on for more adventures, it feels like coming home.

Thought I’d struggle with the top loading of this pack but it’s excellent. Lots of pockets to stash bits and ultra light.

This backpack made my trip in Olympus all the more enjoyable. It’s a simple and beautiful bag with everything you need, with small details that add up to make the use very pleasant and instinctive. For example reaching your bottle from the front and not having to take your pack off and the customisable loops and compression. I wish the front pockets were bigger and easier to reach, but I simply added a light belt bag to the hip strap and didn’t think of it again.

Took it on a PCT Thru hike and It. Held. Up. So comfy! Carried everything I needed and after thousands of miles and numerous bush-whacks, it had only a few minor holes. Would recommend!

The Osprey Eja backpack is a great product. We bought this backpack for our 12 year old daughter. As it can be adjusted easily, it fits her well. It is light and has a lot of useful features. The quality is top as you would expect from Osprey. I can recommend this backpack.

I love this pack. . . . more or less. It's truly the first pack that is comfortable and doesn't leave me sore after a 15 mile day. I've taken this thing on multiple multi day trips and can comfortably carry about 25 lbs and hold all of my gear. A couple of drawbacks however. The side compression straps are a joke. They are so skinny and hard to cinch down. They also make it impossible to get your water bottle in and out. Second, the colors are horrendous. I don't know what's up with the crusty purple color they are going with these days but it's awful. I ended up with the green, but it's like every other green pack out there. I wish Osprey would come up with some fun "girl" colors in the blue or red category.

I chose the Eja based on reviews and have used it once for a 3 day hike covering about 45 miles. I was very happy with my choice. It was easy to adjust to the perfect fit, didn't need readjustment and was comfortable and easy to wear. It has great features and I am looking forward to many happy years of hiking with it. The fabric is lightweight and suffered minor damage on the side pocket from rocks that may not have happened with a heavier fabric but I wanted something light and there has to be a trade off. The size is perfect as I had kit for a 5 day trip in the cold with plenty of space to add camping gear if needed.

I bought this for my trip to NZ in January until April. I’ve just started packing and practiced carrying it. It’s perfect for what I need it for- and it’ll be great for trekking since it’s very light.

I purchased this after having a bad experience with a different pack of a different brand. I am 5’5” and weigh about 116 pounds. I am a bit short waisted too and I thought the pack fit my frame perfectly. No weird rubbing on my lower back after a 31 mile backpacking trip. Lots of space and convenient pockets. Super functional and can’t recommend enough!

My experience mirrors that of the other reviewer. Your scapula will be a-hurting if you choose this pack, so don't choose this pack. It is weirdly badly designed, not like Osprey to make a sucky pack. Absolutely no way to improve the comfort of this pack in the field, because the hard plastic design is what it is--hard and placed exactly where you don't need hard edgy plastic pieces digging into your scapula. Mine were rubbed red and sore. This design flaw makes the pack unusable, but otherwise, it is very nice. I don't even want to donate it to anyone because will just hurt them, too, and why would I pass along something defective to anyone.
I used the exos on thruhike and was eager to try the eja for a womens specific fit. The shoulder straps and belt fit where a big improvement for me, but there are two flaws that keep me from using this pack. The biggest flaw is the plastic pieces sitting on your scapula. I had abrasions my first time using the pack. The second flaw is the compression straps on the outside of the water bottle compartments. You cannot compress your pack AND get out your bottle while hiking. I'll keep this to loan out since it is adjustable, but already bought another pack for personal use.

I love osprey products and unfortunately found that most of their products do not fit XS torsos. However. The EJA is the exception. It fits through the shoulders and leaves plenty of room for tightening the hip belt. It’s like wearing a hug. I did 3 10+mile days with this pack (48l) and it was just the right size for my and my dog’s needs. The ONLY complaint I have is that the shoulder padding could use reinforcements. I found the material shredding my shirt and leaving friction burns on my collarbones after day 2. I ended up shoving my extra sun shirt under the straps to widen the coverage on my shoulders. I could probably wear thicker shirts for winter trips, but summertime screams for tank tops and breathable materials that just didn’t do enough for comfort on that long of a trip. I will be using this pack again, but definitely looking into mods for the shoulder strap padding

I like this pack a lot- out of the packaging I feel like it was really stiff and side pockets were almost unusable but after a week of using could easily get water bottles in and out without taking pack off. Hip belt pockets are a nice size but definitely a design flaw with the zipper and they are a pain to open and close. Overall super comfy pack and durable.
