Volt 65 Pack

I've had my Osprey Volt for about two years now, and like all the Osprey products I've owned, it’s been a great investment. The design and technology in these newer models are truly impressive—this pack is durable, comfortable, and built to perform. It hasn’t let me down on any trip. The only downside was that my hydration reservoir tore inside the pack. I believe this was likely a manufacturing defect with the reservoir itself, not the pack. Overall, I’m really happy with this bag and would definitely recommend it to others.

Not Great

Please note I am coming at this review as a seasoned AT thru hiked and Philmont ranger with over 3000 miles of trail on my old pack. Osprey replaced my old Volt 75 with this pack for free as my old one was beyond repair, and at first I was really excited for it until I noticed a few key differences between this pack and the old model. This new model does not have a stretchy section behind the pack for storing wet or dirty items. Also, does not come with trekking pole holders that are accessible while you are hiking. These were two of the most important features that I value my old backpack and I am bummed to not get them in this one. The wraparound zipper is cool in theory, but if you know how to pack your backpack, it’s a worthless feature that adds weight. Seems like it could be a great pack for beginner backpackers or maybe for a Philmont hike but as a Thru Hiker, I’m a bit disappointed.
