Cushion Or Flexibility?

I’ve had these for two weeks and am not very happy with them. The cushioning is excellent but they are a little stiff and cause my troubled foot to clop when I wear them. Both feet hurt after a couple of miles. They have a very high rise at the ankle and I don’t care for that, either. I’ve had two pairs of On Running shoes previously and loved both—but this style is not a winner for me.
